    Can anyone explain why the cat is allowed to play the real piano, whilst the student has to play an electronic piano?

    The sound difference (even through the video) is obvious.

    People prefer the electronic keyboard because it is easily transported and stored. You can throw a switch and sound like you are playing almost any instrument. You can use headphones and practice all you want without disturbing anyone.

    The down side is the sound quality doesn’t come anywhere near matching a real piano.
