my only question regarding all the pissing over the AZ law is this; are you people simply ignorant and haven’t read the law or are you knowingly and deliberately lying when you know the truth?
The law doesn’t allow for random ID checks.
Repeat it with me class…

fAtty: You are just dreaming if you think I and other true Americans are going to just roll over on this issue. I didn’t serve in the military, my father didn’t serve in the military, my Son didn’t serve in the military, just to sit around and let these illegal immigrants over-run our country and tell us what is legal and what isn’t. Take your racist BS back across whatever border you’re concerned with. This is not, nor was it ever, a racist issue. It is about preserving freedom, maintaining order, and providing our children with opportunity.
jollycynic: It’s not allowing random ID checks. It’s allowing obvious violators to be sent back where they belong. ( I wish they would send the obvious employers there with them. )
The law states that an officer engaged in a lawful stop, detention or arrest shall, when practicable, ask about a person’s legal status when reasonable suspicion exists that the person is in the U.S. illegally.
The problem is that anybody can be stopped lawfully with the slightest excuse. An arrest is not required. You can be “stopped” just because you look like somebody else, or are in a DUI driver screening roadblock, or you look like you “don’t belong”.
Piss away our freedoms you small minded “patriots”… you obviously do not understand what America is really all about. To your small minds it is about waving a flag and deporting the maid, while ignoring the real problems that are destroying the America that you claim to love.
What is the rule.. innocent until proven guilty… or is it guilty unless you can prove you are innocent?
I don’t care. I love the State of Arizona and will still be an Arizona Cardinals / Phoenix Coyotes / Phoenix Suns fan in South Texas. Unless my Coyotes end up being the Winnipeg Jets after next season, of course.
#23, I didn’t serve in the military, my father didn’t serve in the military, my Son didn’t serve in the military,
OK, so you won’t pull the “I served therefore my opinion counts as more than your’s” argument. Great. That argument is always so lame.
You are just dreaming if you think I and other true Americans are going to just roll over on this issue.
So if someone has a different opinion does that disqualify them from being a “true American”? Hey! I agree, illegal immigrants should be sent back.
This is not, nor was it ever, a racist issue. It is about preserving freedom, maintaining order, and providing our children with opportunity.
In case you missed the story, this is a case of people entering Mexican waters and being robbed at gun point. It has nothing to do with whatever “American” values you might have nor does it include extending your or your childrens values into another country to do as you please.
But then, I actually watched the video so I have an idea of what the thread is about.
the Supreme Court ruled unanimously on the federal version that police do not, repeat: DO NOT need reasonable suspicion to pull you over and ask for your papers. This makes the Federal and California versions TOUGHER than Arizona’s! so take your racist BS and shove it. It’s been ruled on by the highest court in the land.
Muehller vs Menya not sure if that spelling is correct but that’s the case

Racism is ignorance.
Ignorance is bliss.
Arizona is a very happy place.

I think we agree then.

#21 Now I know that nickname of yours is not referring to your physical height but your brain size.
As long as we follow the rules of the state we don’t need no papers.
I just hope I only have to produce my papers and proof of paying my taxes.

Can I just say what a relief to find someone who actually knows what theyre talking about on the internet.
Thankfully, the U.S. Supreme Court in a 5 to 4 decision last June reversed Bush on Habeas Corpus.
