Yes that’s true about Mother Nature, but unfortunately those same children lack the emotional maturity and financial resources to take care of a child.

In that regard, it probably doesn’t hurt to be a bit prudish.

Remember how Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that there are no homosexuality in Iran and Americans laughed at him? I suspect that Ahmadinejad thought he was telling the truth.

Sure, there may be more male-with-male sex in Iran than in America but this is not necessarily defined as “gay” in their minds. Sex with pre-pubescent boys, for example, is commonly seen as hetero if the adult male place the “male” role.

This is one reason why I differ from my fellow evangelicals on the issue of homosexuality. The homosexuality that the bible condemns was surely very different than how we define it now. Homosexuality back then was mostly pedophilia and “down low” adultery (which is still wrong, IMHO).

Paul was not condemning committed gay marriages because it didn’t existed back then — just as it doesn’t exist today in places like Iran.
