  1. Derek says:

Spending our way out of a recession. Yea, that’s working out great! Good job!

  2. Dallas says:

#1 Actually, spending out of recession is exactly what needs to be done. That’s why wars and building military toys are so popular.

Here’s an idea !! ..how about spending on things that actually have lasting value like infrastructure!

  3. Alfred Persson says:

Your analysis of Christine O’Donnell’s win over RINO Rep. Mike Castle ignored changed realities.

IN the old days negative ads worked, labeling someone extreme or too religious worked.

Delaware proves that’s no longer true.

Mike Castle campaigned precisely as democrats will, all negative…it failed for a number of reasons:

The public sees all politicians negatively, her sins aren’t so bad.

The public sees the current regime as extreme, and want it stopped. Lefties are a minority. The Center right will ignore her faults and elect her because they fear for the future of this country, not just their jobs.

    Also their freedom.

The Tea Party candidates, supposedly unelectable, are stampeding over their democratic opponents almost everywhere…

Always they were said to be unelectable, and always the pundits are wrong.

The old smear tactics won’t work when the public is in fear of what they are doing in Washington…and Democrats own what is being done.

  4. Name two Democrats thathave been “stampeded over” by a tea party candidate? I thought the election was in November!

  5. Alfred Persson says:

Representative Kendrick Meek and Governor Charlie Crist, both Democrats are being run over by the supposed unelectable Marco Rubio.

Castle was a RINO, a Democrat.

Yesterday’s primary victories of O’Donnell in Delaware, and DioGuardi in New York illustrates how the Tea Party is cleansing the Republican Party and installing true believers over professional politicians. It is a healthy trend that will continue to recreate the Party of Reagan.

But the conventional media, instead of hailing this trend, warns that conservatives cannot be elected and bemoans the victory of true believers saying that it is equivalent to handing seats to the Democrats and the liberals. This reasoning, which made sense in other times, is badly flawed in today’s political climate.

When social issues like abortion, gays, and guns dominate the political discourse, moderates have a big advantage. Voters in these times tend to measure themselves on a left to right spectrum and find those flanked sharply to their right to be extremist on these issues and reject their candidacies.

But these days, social issues are in remission and economic/fiscal problems have, understandably, taken center stage. In this environment, purists of the right have a big advantage because nobody doubts the sincerity with which they embrace the goals of limited government, low taxes, and reduced spending. Politicians of all stripes – including most Democrats – vow allegiance to them as does the overwhelming majority of the electorate. In this environment, the distinctions of left and right give way to the difference between sincerity and insincerity, leaving the voters to judge. With candidates like Sharron Angle in Nevada or Christine O’Donnell in Delaware or DioGuardia in New York, voters don’t have to guess. They know real conservatives when they see them.-

  6. Alfred Persson says:

The fundamental flaw in Dvorak’s analysis is self deception.

President Obama won as a center right candidate, then both Congress and he took that as a mandate for a far left agenda, and the loons here at D Uncensored partied.

They enjoyed themselves for time, drunk with power, pontificating the demise of conservatism.

I recall their advice, how we should be more like them to win elections.

But they lied to the people who they were. And each legislative win was a nail in their coffin, they thought we were astro-turf…a tiny minority of malcontents who never complained when Bush spent too much.

So they who complained about Bush deficits, exponentially outdid him…and they thought we would applaud impoverishing the country.

But the center right majority, silent no more, is not astro-turf…

Already the supposedly unelectable Christine O’Donell’ has raised more than a million bucks, in less that 24 hours…

And none of you can believe it, because you operate in a cocoon, the proverbial circle jerk, reinforcing each other with stories how extreme conservatives are…how out of touch they are…

But no poll puts liberals at more than 25% of the electorate…you are a minority, a shrinking minority now that your radical agenda has woke up the sleepers among us.

The usual smears won’t work because we don’t trust you. We know you smear to hide greater offenses you are guilty, and you are misdirecting our attention so you can sneak in and destroy America…

That is why left smears now fail to register, your actions have spoken louder than words.
