Read the story about how they are illegally detaining people here.

Finally an American standing up against something obviously bogus and un-American.

  2. Lou Minatti says:

    Hi Uncle Dave,

Nothing about the torture of US citizens on US soil under the watchful eyes of Barack Obama?

“Barack Obama is Commander in Chief. The actions of these sick bastards are his responsibility.”

Barry’s running his own Gitmo right on US soil. More hope and change from Nobel Prize winner Barry Sotero!

  3. bobbo, can't we all just get along says:

“So the department printed up $32,000 worth of forms to prevent the receipt of $16,000 worth of counterfeit bills.” /// Well, its OBVIOUS somebody is smoking something. Find out who should be fired over this, fire him, and fire his boss. Give the stink eye to everyone else.

Ha, ha. You missed this one Unc Dave: “You can’t make this stuff up.”

    Use pennies..

  6. Dallas says:

I agree there are better ways to capture republicans laundering money and/or criminals passing counterfeit bills.

  7. Bob says:

Sigh, why is it that the news media goes and plays the race card? The guy who was stopped at the toll didn’t look black, and one of the toll booth workers didn’t look white. Is she racist against black people?

Is this wrong? Yes. If they are so worried about counterfeit bills, then get one of those nice counterfeit markers and before you accept the 20, 50, or 100, swipe it. Its takes only a second and will stop all but the most determined counterfeiters.

  8. bobbo, a hard brained liberal says:

#7–Bob==the story isn’t about this one stop==its about the entire program. The entire program illegally detains x people (I heard one million which seems high to me) 87% ((whatever–it also was high but credible)) of whom are minorities.

You strike me as a soft brained liberal who objects whenever the truth is uttered. Please post back and tell us that isn’t true.

  9. John says:

#8- Bobbo: And you simply sound like an idiot.

    Signed,
    A conservative, Republican

  10. robman30 says:

Tell them no I will not give u my info. Tell them to call the cops then take the police and dot to court and go home with a cool cpl million in ur pocket.Sounds like a good payday to me.

  11. bobbo, a hard brained liberal says:

This is always a waste of time, but I have five minutes:

    #9–John==why is that?

    tick, tock.

  12. bobbo, a hard brained liberal says:

    tick, tock.

Silly PUKES, always quick with the kneejerk insults but no follow thru.

    Sad actually.

  13. Bob says:

#8, no I just don’t see people by their skin color. And unlike many so called progressives, I actually live my life by that example. Skin color or nationality really doesn’t mean anything to me. Sorry if that’s hard for you to grasp.

Now back to the story. Have you ever thought that a larger part of minorities don’t have bank accounts, and their fore don’t use EZ-Pass, or carry a larger amount of high value bills on them? The reasons why are another discussion, and probably not appropriate for the subject at hand. Just playing the race card any time someone wants to make a point frankly annoys me. Look at everything before you jump to an easy, though probably wrong conclusion.

  14. Mr. Fusion says:

What hasn’t been mentioned is the number of people that willingly just gave them the information.

Whenever I am asked for ID I always demand the requester identify himself with some government picture ID. Most argue but very few, including Best Buy, ever get to see my ID.

The second question has to do with their need for my ID.

Then I give them my Library card.

  15. bobbo, a hard brained liberal says:

Bobbie–I fully accept YOU don’t see people by their skin color. You are obviously blind to many things so skin color is another simple truth that would elude you. But what about “other people.” You know those other people who do see people by their skin color or are you blind to that too?

Just how blind are you bobbie?

You probably think blacks commit more crime too which is why they are disproportionately in jail and subject to capital punishment too.

Yes, blind to many things. OR WORSE just a silly PUKE who makes the best cover story he can when put on the spot. I live for the day when all righteous people such as yourself are color blind, social class blind, privilege blind, education blind—well heck, why not just say “Blind” and not restrict it?

Blind, stupid, or a liar. I’m blind to the difference.

  16. spsffan says:

I like to carry around my 1981 UCLA ID card with the picture of me at a 19 year old, long haired, eyes bugging out due to waiting in line of an hour in 100 degree heat with hard contact lenses and horrible smog. I look like David Koresh!

Of course my real ID is now 10 years old and just a week ago, the DMV gave me another 4 year run with the same picture. That’s what you get for being a good driver :)

More on topic, the toll authority needs to have the ACLU rip them a new one. BS of the highest order. Then again, it’s Florida.

  17. db869 says:

I’m surprised nobody thought to give them bogus information. “My name is Bob Smith and I live at 1313 Mockingbird Lane.” How would they know?

  18. Yankinwaoz says:

    #17…
I always use “420 Stowner Lane”.

Regarding demanding ID for $20. Uh hello Florida. ATM’s only issue $20 notes.

I tried to send some money via Western-Union recently. Cash. $100 cold cash. I refused to give them my phone number. They refused to allow me to wire $100 cash. I asked the representative to show me the law that requires US citizens to have a telephone number. She was a total jerk on the phone and claimed she should not bend their policy. So according to Western Union, I have to pay $30+ a month for phone service just so I can use their services.

It gets beter. This was a supervisor I was speaking to. I asked her what WU was going to do with my phone number (if I had had given them one). She got really snotty with me and told that I was not allowed to know because it was a security issue. I retorted “Excuse me? It is MY phone number and you refuse to tell me what you plan to do with it?”

We are so past the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany at this point.

  19. Yankinwaoz says:

In 2007, the Perth Western Australia public transportation system implemented a new RFID smart card system. In order to get the new card, you had to fill out an application with extension person questions.

I went down the train office on the day they implemented this. There was a long queue of people with their forms fully filled out. I grabbed mine and refused to fill it out.

When I got to the clerk, I demanded to know why they needed by name, address, phone number in order to use public transport. She got really snotty with me and could not come up with an answer. She finally claimed they needed it incase I lost my card so they could return it to me. I told her that I would take that chance of not loosing it and refused to give them my details.

I also asked her what steps they had taken to protect the information they were collecting, and what they planned to do with this information. That is when she blew up on me and started screaming at me that W.A. law tells them exactly what they can and can’t do with it. I guess she took it personally.

Eventually, they agreed to sell me my card for cash and with no ID from me (after I proved they had no right to refuse to do so). But boy they put up a fight. I looked behind. In line were 50 more Aussie sheeple giving up all their details for what? I could not help but just shake my head and walk out of there.

All I can guess is that they hate this Yank that showed up and refused to give them his details.

  20. deowll says:

At least it looks like this guy is going to make a run for the money and that is the one thing that keeps these people in line…most of the time.

Sigh it’s sad but some of the people posting here still haven’t figured out you can’t trust the government to take care of you or obey the law. They still want to make it all powerful and make it grow and grow even though they should know the more powerful it is the more it will abuse people.
