I’ve never had this problem with Florida tolls even though I almost always paid with a $20, but with the tolls for a 5-axle truck it usually took all of the $20.
It has been my experience in other states (especially New York) where if you pay with anything bigger than a $20, the toll collector will leave the booth to record your license plate number.
Almost all the toll roads I’ve experienced (other than Florida) use that marker pen on the bills. I have at times considered getting one of these pens myself and to check the bills I receive from the toll collector just to see what their reaction would be.
In a related thought, the Indiana Toll Road (having been leased to a Spanish/Australian company) has turned most of the toll booths into self-serve booths. Even at the very busy East and West ends, you are lucky if even one booth has a living person to take your money. Long lines form behind anybody paying anything in the self-serve booths, and you can spend 5 minutes waiting for help over the intercom when the machine refuses to read your magnetic coded entry ticket.
My personal opinion is that this is their method of coercing people into buying the EZ Pass (called I-Zoom in Indiana). The longer you wait, the more likely you are to buy it.
Also, before it was sold I paid $12.80 for the trip between the East and West gates. Now I pay $30.00. So they have greatly reduced the number of toll collectors and increased the cost by 230% in the span of 5 yrs.
This happened to me on the Kansas Turnpike a month ago. The toll was $4 and all I had was a $50 bill. When I got to the tollbooth the attendant asked for my tag number, which I gave her, assuming it was in case the bill was counterfeit, which I can understand. It struck me as unusual but nothing sinister. I haven’t had any Kansas government agents snooping around my door here in Oklahoma anyway. Non-issue to me, I am not one of those who refuses to give an ID when asked by TSA or a policeman anyway.
Debunking 9/11 Conspiracy Theories and Controlled Demolition …
The molten metal that conspiracy theorists point to are a glowing flow coming from …. “NIST concluded that the source of the molten material was aluminum …
http://debunking911.com/moltensteel.htm
I’m not interested enough to read it and assume it is just armchair BS: “What metal can melt as the temps we think were there?”
My only point which actually was garbled: any explosion by thermite, c4 or anything else would not have created a “flow” of metal so by any interpretation of such a theory, the fact of the flowing metal doesn’t support that theory at all.
I REFUSE TO BELIEVE that anything connected to BushtheRetard could actually be accomplished===anything not actually accomplished by his even more retarded voting base. Surely THAT is the controlling physics that should be applied to 911?
