Back in 1998 if you had any sort of digital camera you could get a lot of attention from pretty girls at trade shows who were amazed and stunned by the pretty little images. “How do you do that!?!” they’d ask.

Now it wouldn’t impress a three year old. Things change fast.

  2. So what says:

Now days while they were enthralled by the new toy there would be a guy use a phone to post a pic of their asses on his facebook page.

  3. dans says:

‘Want to see my telescopic lens?’

    Now its expected.

Instant gratification on an iPhone uploaded to Twitter, FaceBook and Tumblr over WiFi or 3G.

Within half-an-hour your dick is all over the news and your career, and marriage, are swimming with your turds, in the toilet. :-)

  5. Dallas says:

    1998? I thought dIgital cameras were a 199e phenomenon.

  6. What? says:

More interesting, what are those girls doing today?

Wmon are so much more interesting than technology, even 15 years later.

  7. Glenn E. says:

But such girls are even way more impressed if that camera sits in the glove box of an expensive and flashy sports car, and it’s driver happens to have a ton of cash in the bank. I’m certain the camera alone, isn’t gonna loosen anything they happen to be wearing. Unless the camera also dispenses booze.

And in 2011 we’re still “amazed and stunned” by pretty girls, as digital cameras are taken for granted. I guess that some things are just timeless.

  9. Glenn E. says:

BTW, those gals are there to promote the Sea-Doo personal watercraft (Jet Ski). It was first introduced in 1968. But probably is best know for its appearance in the 1977 James Bond movie, “The Spy Who Loves Me”. That’s the Sea-Doo GS model (pictured), which last sold (used) for about $3000. I’ve no idea what it originally sold for in 1998. So the girls are likely wearing black bikinis, at this show. Because skimpy swimwear is the dress code for selling expensive aquatic toys.

And in 1851, girls were stunned by the flush toilets found in The Crystal Palace.

Don’t forget the stunned girls at the 1962 World’s Fair, amazed by touch tone dialing and change machines…

I don’t know what World’s Fair you were attending. But the NYWF ran from 1964 – 65. I know, I was there for both years. I wish it did have a longer run. And NY had enough pride to keep it in good repair, afterward, as a local Queens attraction. But the tennis and soccer interests have pretty much taken the park’s land over. And the rest is left to rust and crumple away. I loved “Ironman II’s” idea of restoring it. But that’s just a movie fantasy. NYC is apparently satisfied with just having Coney Island, Times Square, and Liberty Island, as it’s main tourist attractions. Dumb.

    • Glenn E. says:

Ohhhh, the Seattle World’s Fair. Sorry. I keep forgetting about that tiny little thing they ran in 1962. Got to be the smallest on record, or pretty close to it. Didn’t look like it disturbed very much of downtown Seattle, to accommodate it. And who has maps of that fair anymore? Or any other souvenirs? I’ve still got my NYWF map, and battery powered fan.

    More please.
