China Hush – April 20, 2012:

Taobao is setting up a delivery/logistics company with their “Tao Girls” (淘女郎) to delivery goods purchased off the Internet. Currently hiring “Tao girls” all over the country whoever is interested in participating. Choosing a Tao girl to delivery your purchase will cost ten yuan extra. According to sources, Taobao had the idea of Tao Girls delivering goods for long time, consumers purchasing goods on Taobao have the option of choosing a Tao Girl in the same city personally delivering the goods.

Actually, as early as beginning of April, on April fools day, Alibaba Group vice president Tao Ran said in his Weibo, “Taobao department is working with a logistics company, to allow customers to choose Tao girls in the same city to deliver goods, delivery cost will be slightly higher.” One day later, Tao Ran announced on Weibo, “Choose Tao girls to be the beautiful couriers, since everyone’s voices are so high, “Tao girl” has been taken into consideration.”

Will this end with a brutal rape or murder?

Will this end with a brutal rape or murder? /// Probably more will end with disappointment as those girls all look like the ones on Massage Parlor ads? I thought that baby doll/hentai look was more a Japanese thing?

I’m probably more racist than I realize?

    Ha, ha.

My wife is Chinese. At 57 her hair is still rich black, and she looks about 42. Cute as a kitten too. She’s the best thing that ever happened to me.

I get special delivery for free. If she saw this post though I would be in a choke hold and slammed on the floor before I knew it. Deceptively tough as nails. It might be genetic, because I always kept my distance from her mother. She didn’t like the fact that I was Caucasian.

      • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

Always good to like, even moreso love, the people we are living with.

How does who you are happily married to have anything to do with the cultural memes of the Chinese or Japanese?

        • Skeptic says:

You know, I don’t remember what made me write that bobbo. Perhaps it was your comment of the “baby doll/hentai look” being more a Japanese thing. As for your racist worry (I know you had a wink in there), I think we all worry too much about noticing and talking about our differences.

But, I see that my post might have been better placed as a general comment on the safety of Chinese delivery girls. The environment they are brought up in can make them tougher than they look.

As an aside, the photo above looks like they digitally enlarged the eyes. So in a sense, what you see is probably not what you are going to get… in that sense your first comment is probably correct… disappointment. :)

Every honorable Shogun will brag on his dragon lady every chance he gets.

What did you think of those private thoughts unsaid between Blackthorne and Mariko during their rowboat escape?

Course, that is a Japanese setting/characters/culture and the Japanese are the most racist culture on Earth. The Chinese “should be” more relaxed given their heterogeneity but I haven’t spent time in China as I have in Japan.

            Your life experiences may vary.

          • Skeptic says:

Regrettably, I’ve never read Shogun (looks interesting). It’s now on my “to read” list. I’ve only become an enthusiastic novel reader, only in the last 10 years or so.

          • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

You’ll know the passage I’m thinking of where the two parents are thinking of their son.

            Made me laugh.

          • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

It is niggling at me that he female character is Chinese and the setting was Honk Kong–making the novel: Noble House, still by Clavell both a good read especially for Orient lovers.

            Probably correct.

So make Noble House with a passage on bi-racial couples and Shogun for cross cultural bias when coming to the issue of deep tissue massage. That made me laugh too.

I see a four hour movie on Marco Polo starts in 30 minutes. Imagine walking the earth and finding an entirely new advanced culture? That would blow my mind.

  2. deegee says:

“Will this end with a brutal rape or murder?”

Of course it will. After all, every man is an evil thug and that is all we think about whenever we see a woman.
    Good grief. :/

    • Cap'nKangaroo says:

Not all men, but 1 in 100 would not be far off. Then throw in drug/alcohol to loosen inhibitions, I would say you are up to 1 in 20. Add in the fact that the girls are delivering to a place not of their choosing, I would say assaults on them might be as common as robberies of pizza-delivery drivers in bad neighborhoods.

  3. msbpodcast says:

You have no fucking idea how uptight Asian men can be; even the Japanese and their laisez-faire attitudes towards sex.

If its not offered on the menu, most don’t assume it can still be had.

There are places where it can be had and you go there if that’s what you want.

This could be a service for delivering overpriced saké, sojù or most anything to the corporate offices during business hours on someone’s birthday and they would be making money hand over fist.

This could be a supplemental delivery service for UPS, FedEx or DHL with a personalized greeting and someone with a pleasant demeanor.

Go eat at an Otaku Maid Café and you’ll see people cosplay, but only a complete idiot would try to put any sort of move on the waitresses.

    • msbpodcast says:

Oh and before I forget, they could make knowing martial arts part of the job requirement.

She could be really petite, cute and sweet and be quite able to rip your arm off and beat you with the wet end like she was swinging a pair of nun-chucks…

And these people definitely know how to make and use swords, (katana, wakazashi and tanto) bows and arrows, (daikyū and the shorter hankyū) pikes and throwing stars. They were ninja while the Greeks were still bashing each other with hunks of hammered bronze for pete’s sake.

      • Cursor_ says:

It is a Chinese company not a Japanese one.

        And ninjas are fictional.

        • msbpodcast says:

Chinese use swords (though the katana is distinctly a Japanese design) and the Asian sectional bow helped Attila conquer from the steppes westward and all the way into Europe too.

Ninja is a (potentially dangerous) state of mind. :-)

      • deowll says:

As a militarized culture never bad mouth the Spartans. They were as good/bad as anybody. Then again so were the Romans in their own horrific way.

      • deowll says:

nun-chucks? Now that is something to visualize.

  4. George says:

10 yuan is less than $2. Pretty darned cheap, so I’m guessing there’s nothing extra thrown in for the price.

In the circle I travel in, I don’t run into many single Chinese men, but the married guys seem pretty straight. However, the stories I hear from my Chinese wife and her friends about the wealthy Chinese men are pretty much out of the Don Draper book on how to treat women.

  5. Glenn E. says:

I don’t know why a pretty girl has be the deliverer of crap one saw and order from the Home Shopping Network. Or the higher end crap, version of that (QVC?). Hasn’t FedEx, UPS, etc, done alright so far? This Cutie delivery option is mainly for the rich and depraved. Like that bastard Euro banker, who skipped out on the American courts this year, for assaulting a hotel maid. She changed her story, but you know the likely bought her off or threatened her life. That weasel Strauss-Kahn, would be just the sort the Cutie delivery girl squad is meant to appeal to. Because the rest of us, can’t afford the cost of the extra service. We don’t have expense accounts, picked up by investors.

    • Glenn E. says:

Correction. The hotel maid didn’t change her story. The lawyers just found fault with it. Never mind that this jerk Strauss-Kahn has been caught with his paws in the coochie jar, since then.

And you probably barely heard about this in the news. While you’ve heard more than enough about the Secret Service scandal. Maybe it’s design to distract us from what the high rolling international lechers are down to.

      • BigBoyBC says:

“…caught with his paws in the coochie jar”

        Now that’s funny…

  6. AdmFubar says:

here i thought it was the girls were being delivered…

  7. Hillary Clinton says:

I think this is a GREAT idea! Wait until I tell Janet about it!

  8. Section8 says:

Nice to see the chinese valuing their women for a change. Must bee good news for future girl babies

  9. B. Dog says:

For 2 bucks, why not do long time?

  10. Cursor_ says:

I could see this also coming to the US on the west coast of course.

    Maybe in Boston or NYC.

But anywhere else it would not be either possible to get past the sexually frustrated conservatives or because the pool of hot women is small.

Unless you like 240 lbs 18 year olds in Alabama.

If it takes off, it will hit North America in Las Vegas before anywhere else. There’s already an established “in-room entertainment” industry, lots of restaurants, and women looking for work.

Besides, everything in Vegas is designed to make Asian tourists feel like they’re at home.

  11. One of the young priests here said he couldn’t get it up for an Asian chick. Little boys are a different story…
