Santa Fe police looking for the person who shot up an unmanned speed-enforcement vehicle last week on Bishops Lodge Road now know what he looks like.

Video released Friday shows a gray-haired man wearing what appears to be a nightshirt pull up in an Audi SUV or wagon about 1:20 a.m., then walk up to the camera-equipped vehicle and fire at least five rounds from a handgun…

The video shows the shooter stood roughly 10 feet away from the vehicle when he aimed the handgun. The man at one point appears to yell something after firing the weapon.

The enforcement vehicles, which create images that are used to issue citations to registered owners of cars caught speeding, haven’t been uniformly popular

The Audi fits the neighborhood of Bishop’s Lodge Road. I’m not so certain about the handgun. Or shooting up city property.

UPDATE — BUSTED!

They should catch this guy and get him the mental health services he needs. If the guy had spray painted the vehicle, it would have been more of a free speech “statement” situation (sic to Bill OReally) but discharing firearms? This liberal toady is against such things.

  2. Jeroen says:

    Nice nightgown Ron Paul!
out at night defending the 2nd amendment?

      Ha, ha. Classic.

I don’t think there’s any State any weirder than New Mexico. It’s a beautiful place to see but it’s still pretty damn weird. California may be a close second for nut balls, but then again there’s also Alaska and Florida to consider.

In any case, did anyone notice that he was driving an Audi? I might suggest he were a relative of Dick Cheney for obvious reasons. But the fact that he’s not even driving an American car makes me think he’s more likely to be a relative or friend of of Mitt Romney!

(Obama may strangle the life out of something but he’s won’t shoot it – he, and all his buddies are against guns!)

Dang it! I missed the camera.

  8. Cap'nKangaroo says:

    I’m laying odds this is a card-carrying tea-partier (3 to 1) .

Or, does anyone know where Ted Nugent was that night? Just saying it wouldn’t surprise me.

He reminds me of this guy.

Is that what GM foods and substituting HFCS for sugar does to people?

      It was mah candy…..

    • msbpodcast says:

I agree with the kid, the old man is definitely off his meds…

Its recorded so he’s got all the proof he needs to get the old man put away (preferably in isolation,) and make his insurance claim.

Putting it on YouTube is just the icing on the cake.

  10. msbpodcast says:

They just have to look up the records of who they’d caught driving an Audi in that speed trap in the last few days.

He probably a local, who was pissed off enough that he’d been caught the first time that he went home, had a beer or ten, got his gun, had his little shootout and went home to sleep if off.

  11. alex says:

I saw nothing wrong with that video. By shooting that speed enforcement vehicle he just put a few State workers to work fixing it! Cue the wimps.

  12. AdmFubar says:

“Coppers release video of man in nightshirt shooting speed SUV”

Here i thought this was about some new type of heroin..
or a new Law and Order series.

honestly who is writing the headlines here and where is the editing to do the reviews before it is published!

  13. jpfitz says:

Dad is that you. I told you not to shoot at cars anymore.

  14. John S says:

Just another Ted Nugent Gun toting nut job who decides what laws he obeys and which ones need to be shot up. Don’t get me wrong I am not a anti gun liberal by any stretch. But I believe the way to stop government intrusion is by voting in those that will stop it. Not taking matters into my own hands. You have the freedom to buy a gun and also the freedom to vote.

    • Ken says:

That’s nice and all that you believe that voting will get you something, but that doesn’t mean that democracy is a just form of government, or that the democratic process *should* be followed in the face of injustice. You keep voting, like our overlords expect of the sheep; some of us will look to ways involving civil disobedience.

  15. UncDon says:

Where can I get some of that nifty-keano bullet-proof glass?

  16. tigerjuju says:

    My HERO!!

  17. sargasso_c says:

    Could be a sleep walker?

  18. Ken says:

Almost a hero, but spraypaint and a mask would have been a far better option.

  19. deowll says:

They should have used a better camera.

If this guy has a gun permit he isn’t going to have one for long.

  20. CrankyGeeksFan says:

Maybe, in the future, there will be audio.

  21. Bosco says:

The real question is… Ambien or Chantix?
