    eh

    • Cap'nKangaroo says:

It appears this story is active. The “Voter Fraud” story seems to locked down since this afternoon.

      • Uncle Dave says:

Nope. It’s still unlocked. Checked the log, it never was locked. Just posted a test comment and deleted it. Worked fine.

There were a lot of good comments that went to the spam folder, including some of yours, for some reason. Pulled everything out.

        • Cap'nKangaroo says:

          Appreciate that.

I’ve seen others complain about being blocked –usually when they have one or more weblinks but my post had no links, no bad words, not too long==how would a spam filter latch onto it?

OTOH–it appears it denied all the responses for a while there. Bad Spam Filter!

but those handbag selling creeps from Romania aren’t posting anymore. fine tuning the spam filter?

  2. pedro says:

Who can understand this 12 y.o. priest wanna be kid that posts this kind of stories.

This would prevent pedophile priests to watch kids and you’re against that? Make up your mind!!

  3. msbpodcast says:

Neat, keep the non-political stories coming.

  4. James C Wise says:

    mind = blown!

  5. bobbo, the future is so bright, I gotta wear tinfoil says:

There is a field of mathematics dealing with surfaces and/or shapes and how they work. Deep into origami and the practical real world applications it has: what shapes can you make and not make with a square piece of paper? This was used to make space mirrors more compact.

Then, what shapes can you make with a square sheet of paper with a hole in the middle? Origami==its on my list of things to do when I’ve done everything else.

    • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

Speaking of Origami–its fun to delve into Japanese cultural issues from time to time. Every issue that we might have “some” knowledge of is covered in great detail in Japan.

For instance, in Origama, there are schools of thought regarding whether or not cutting the paper is allowed. Still a single sheet, but at some point it gets cut. This DRAMATICALLY changes the shapes you can make. They have rules or schools or protocols regarding whether or not you can simply fold a piece of paper upon itself effectively changing its shape. Think of starting with a rectangle rather than a square. Can you fold it into a square than then make a standard square Origama or is that less pure?

      Same with Haiku.

      Same with Bonsai.

      Same with practically…. everything.

Its the human mind folding the Universe in ways it finds beautiful.

Are you thinking of Topology? I love it! Wish I had the math to fully explore it.

A topologist is a mathematician who can’t tell the difference between a coffee mug and a donut.

      • bobbo, the pragmatic existential evangelical anti-theist says:

I don’t think thats it. I did google until I got bored (thats about 45 seconds these days) but you have the exact subject I was thinking of==coffee cups and donuts. “Topographically” two very different things. You can fold one into a flat piece of paper but not the other—or whatever the distinction there is.

It is rather amazing what paper will fold into though. I had a friend who would tip waitresses with a dollar bill folded into a crane. That was only part of what made him such a killer. (Insert crude joke here.)

    ♥ I think I’m in love. ♥

  7. Uncle Patso says:

If you think this is weird, just consider the idea of n-dimensional topology and its deep links to quantum mechanics!

I’ve never taken a topology course — mostly what I know of it comes from reading Gamow’s “1, 2, 3, Infinity” as a kid — but the mrs. did once and just looking at her homework blew my mind!

  8. Ken says:

I remember an issue of Omni magazine that had a pre-printed hexaflexagon that you could fold together and play with.
This video was cool. I’ll check out her other stuff on youtube.
