An elaborate hoax?

  1. Comanche says:

DHS now has more armored personnel carriers than the US Army and just bought enough bullets to fight 25 Iraq wars.

  2. dusanmal says:

Yes, long standing (for years) hoax.
However, what feeds every such successful/long surviving hoax is a grain of truth. Actual related worrying grains of truth from recent days: Department of Homeland Security purchasing enough bullets to last for an equivalent of 20+ years of Iraq/Afghan wars… But they operate ONLY on US soil. Same people just receiving a train load of IED hardened armored vehicles, initially designed for the above mentioned Afghan war. To be used on US soil exclusively.
Now make your own minds about what these actual event point to and how such conclusions easily feed hoaxes not based on reality (because those become plausible).

  3. Phydeau says:

They say they’re buying the bullets in quantity (to save money) for training. But that will likely not convince the tinfoil hat contingent.

And for the record, police state stuff is not liberal. 🙂 So if any of this is true and it’s from Obama, blame him for being a fascist, not a liberal. Oh, who am I kidding. I know what you guys are going to do. 🙂

    • hauntedsheep says:

yes, liberals are the good guys. I forgot.

      • Phydeau says:

We all have our advantages. In the old days, liberals and conservatives could agree that we all love our country and want to make it better, we just disagreed with how we wanted to do it, and came to a compromise. However, right-wingers (not conservatives) have been demonizing liberals for decades now. Yes, you started it. Now you’ve got your own little right-wing universe with its own laws of nature and physics, in which Mitt Romney is our current president. 🙂

        Reality, it’s a bitch!

    • deowll says:

By the time DHS uses up all the ammo they have now it might be half a century old unless…something really bad happens and this wasn’t bought for the police. It’s for DHS.

As for all the armored vehicles. It is really hard to come up with a scenario in which they need even a hundredth as many as they bought unless you start considering the seriously crazy options.

I haven’t been able to come up with any reasonable and rational reasons to do what they did unless somebody is expecting something along the lines of a civil war or a military take over of the country.

Even the riots of sixties would look very tame compared to what would justify this. This suggests crowd control by killing people by the truck load rather than using foam, tear gas, and non lethal methods.

Of course it may well be that DHS has so much money to burn through that they are buying mountains of stuff they know they don’t need so they can spend all the money that has been appropriated which also sounds at least equally insane but is consistent with the behavior of the BO WH.

BO won’t discover a spending problem as long as the printing press works and Congress gives him a blank check.

      • Phydeau says:

It’s fun seeing the wingnut mind at work… practically salivating at the prospect of finally being able to use their guns to shoot some jackbooted government thugs!

By the way, sorry to deflate your bubble, but google “how long do bullets last” and you’ll find they last a long, long time. More than half a century.

So where are these camps? What’s the address please. I mean we know where Area 51 is and where people who work there hop their planes.

Since these places have miles of fence, it would be easy to figure it out. Google might be a co-conspirator, but facilites as big as large prisons need Water, Power, Sewers, Lighting, Mail, Garbage Collection,……Somebody has Utility bills for these facilities. Who?

Military recruits lean way right. They love their guns and country. Do you think that they would build their own jails and not mention it? NRA has no link to this video. I mean come on POTUS is putting gun owners in these, right? How come the NRA is not all over this?

The lack of logic is incredible.

Who cleans the bathrooms at the empty facilities? Who is catering this Haliburton or Brown and Root?

“Moesha was a very changed man. He had been very happy and spiritual before. After he came back he told how the Jews had been transported to a place where they had to dig graves and they were shot and shoved into the graves. Infants and children were thrown on top of the adults.

The Jews ignored the warnings because they thought Moesha had just gone crazy. They felt safe because they were citizens and could not believe that harm could come to them in a place where they had grown up a part of the country.”

So—in this internment camp===>where do they keep the unicorns?

    Silly Hoomans.

ftn: the argument by analogy to Nazi Germany and the Jews not heading certain warnings taken at face value is interesting. Let me put on my THINKING CAP: were their any dissimilarities between Nazi Germany and its Death Camps and the leak of this report? I can think of a few right off the top of my head.

Imagine that? Two different complex historical fact patterns having similarities and differences?

You don’t have to Imagine that=====its always the case.

All analogies break at some point otherwise they are no longer analogies.

No…..THE POINT…>>>is to figure out how much of an analogy should fit on what points and how much of what points are NOT present, you add up the pros and the cons, compare and constrast, and apply some JUDGMENT===not some dipshit dogma.

Well, perhaps you can learn just a little bit about how to argue, and if you do it long enough, you might even start to think that way without direct prompting?

        • jpfitz says:

bobbo, Anonymous has a valid point. It takes a long time to take advantage of the public. I may sound paranoid but 9/11 is the birth of the government we have today. The actions our government took was kept incubating until the moment was right. Cheney learned how and when during his administration with the elder Bush.

The 2nd Bush handed off a pigskin to Obummer with the knowledge that the monetary crash was built into the football.

Huge amounts of money was given away to weaken the country and create an unimaginable deficit. 15 trillion and counting. We’ll never get out from under that debt.

The fear, uncertainty and doubt is pervasive in the U.S. right now. So is the paranoia. The media is pure propaganda nowadays. Add the drones and you’ve got some pissed off citizens. Just read the comments here and on other web sites, and you can smell the anger and fear.

I’ve lived my life as a protector of those being pushed around and at the same time a pacifist. I use words to protect. Not fists.

    Obummer.

  17. Porky Rottenham says:

When you play “Them vs. Us” you play into the hands of the DHS. Disobey your training. Open your eyes. Who signed off on these purchases?

  18. I think this is just a hoax perpetrated by laundry soap manufacturers (and JCD) trying to get us all to crap our pants in fear. The reality is a lot more benign, at least it appears so. This is just another periodic update of a U.S. Army field manual, superseding the earlier version (FM 3-19.40) published in 2007, which replaced a 2001 version with that same document number. I downloaded the August 2001 version (titled “MILITARY POLICE INTERNMENT/RESETTLEMENT OPERATIONS”, and it also contains that same very curious section about a prisoner being identified with his social security number, cited in this video as proof that internment is intended for use here in America. The 2001 manual also lays down the rules for the use of deadly force in the event a prisoner attempts to escape, mentions those “designated marksmen” to be used in crowd and riot control, and talks about the same type of psychological operations (PSYOPS) and indoctrination as discussed in the later versions of the manual.

So the truth of this is that most of this silly “government plot” not only predates Obama’s presidency, but it even predates the terrorist attack of 9/11/2001. A thorough review and update were certainly in order after the Dept. of Homeland Security was created, and perhaps again after Abu Ghraib, Gitmo, and Hurricane Katrina exposed a few more problems. Almost all of the training material applies to overseas operations, but there are times when the army could conceivably be required in the homeland.

Unfortunately, all this fearmongering just helped sell an extra 10,000 or so assault rifles, so maybe that’s a clue as to who might really be behind these little “news” items that come up from time to time. When fear is in the air, there is profit to be made on the ground.

    • jpfitz says:

I agree, my contention is that 9/11 was the birth of this current governments shenanigans. Terror is an emotion, not an actual enemy.
