  1. Talk to your elders says:

Think back to the oldest person you ever had a conversation with. When were they born?

For me, it was my great-grandmother, born in 1873. She told me her father was a harness maker and lock-tender on the C&O Canal.

    Pretty cool.

    • spsffan says:

For me it would have been my grandmother, who died at 96. She was born in the 20th century, but sailed to America from Europe, as a little girl, two months after the Titanic went down.

She’s been gone 13 years now. I still miss her!

  2. bobbo, we think with words and flower with ideas says:

Sadly….. most old people are like most young people. Don’t Know Shit……….and can only talk about what food they like and their last bowel movement.

    Hoomans are like that.

    • Mr Diesel - Nothing Pithy to Say Today says:

Spousal unit works in a retirement community.

Yes, especially when the bowel movement is trailing them down the hall or in the elevators.

  3. NewFormatSux says:

    I blame Trump.

  4. Old Fart says:

I bet no one gives a shit what I’ve seen or done or any of my statistics like when I was born. So I’m left wondering why this last living relic of the 1800’s is even news. Did she win the lottery or something being the last living person born in the 1800’s? Some kind of “prize,” if that’s the case. Or could this be some kind of subliminal challenge to get out there and do the fuck-monkey thing?

    … IOW, WTF?

    • Stupid is as stupid does says:

“I bet no one gives a shit what I’ve seen or done.”

Well, since you sound like a loser, you are probably correct.

But there are others who are capable of speaking lucently about the past and have interesting stories to tell.

      • bobbo, we think with words and flower with ideas says:

Ever read “Catcher in the Rye”? Young Holden Caulfield went on his life journey expecting to find wisdom on the road from the old people he met.

He found graffitte: “Kilroy was Here.” but concluded that farmers could only talk about the weather.

I forget what else happened in the book….. I probably stopped reading, but right now….. I have to take a dump. A deuce a day keep the doctor away.

        • Everybody Poops says:

Did your grandpa teach you about taking a dump?

Perhaps he was Cuban and said, “Heave a Havana”?

          Lay some cable?
          Pinch a loaf?
Drop the kids off at the pool?
