We are so screwed.

  1. NewFormatSux says:

Maybe if the media(and a large minority of Republicans) weren’t waging constant war against Trump he would act that way in return.

Plus, he has filed papers as a candidate for the 2020 election.

  2. Marc Perkel says:

Awwww – poor baby! Trump can dish it out but he can’t take it.

  3. McCullough says:

It really was a terrible speech. I had to turn it off.

    • spsffan says:

And you were expecting anything else? I’ve not been able to tolerate more than about 30 seconds of that man since he first appeared in media, years ago.

    • Mark says:

Well I was never able to get through an Obama speech either….or Bush, or Clinton, or Bush, etc.

      Something about the constant lying.

      • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

Totally agree. “WHO” actually watches these affronts to all things decent?

……….its one advantage of watching the comedy news review shows. Rarely more than 2-3 minute clip of some Politician lying in some perceived self advantaging manner…. followed by buffoonery piercing humor. The Media could learn.

    • jpfitz says:

Good to hear from McCullough, I too had to avert my attention. My wife who hated politics, can’t look away.
Is our difference in ability to watch the train wreck, due to my longer exposure to following, war, riots, and incompetent politicians?

  4. Hmeyers says:

In Europe, unelected bureaucracy holds the true power. The EU parlament is an example.

Although EU parlament members are elected, they cannot propose any legislation.

And although countries own national government is elected, European Union regulations > your country. This unaccountability led to Britain wanting to vote on BrExit.

It’s a dark comedy of Democracy.

Washington DC wants to be like the unaccountable European Union.

They are stonewalling on everything to demonstrate where the true power in Washington DC is.

    • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

Thats quite a mishmash of conflicting off topic issues.

Just to start off…. why should something that is not a democracy be evaluated from that perspective?

And to end…. Brexit is one way to hold the EU accountable.

………………. just if you want to jibberjabber.

      • Hmeyers says:

I have always been of the opinion that we will eventually return to feudalism.

That is the lens through which I view these events.

May not interest you, but it is clearly on topic to me.

Trump needs crowds to find the moral support he will never receive in Washington DC — they aren’t interested in change or getting anything done in DC.

        • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

HM—I’m interested….. just noting it is a mishmash and off topic.

Just as you KNOW it is.

          don’t be petty.

          • Hmeyers says:

No, an example of offtopic would be the following:

Carbon is 0.18% of the Earth by weight.

Oxygen is 46%, Silicon 27%, followed by Iron.

In an odd twist, even if AGW is true, in the long run we might be doing the right thing bringing buried carbon to the surface in the long run — if the carbon in the atmosphere is eventually converted into biomass.

The additional biomass from the extra gigatons of carbon would eventually be biologically processed into top soil.

          • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

            Thats just really stupid.

Showing the foundational lack of understanding for all science denying positions.

          • Hmeyers says:

Sand is made of silicon and oxygen (i.e. silicon dioxide).

Unarable land — and there is a lot of it — lacks soil.

Carbon on a whole is rather rare in the Earth’s crust and it would be difficult to increase the surface biomass without additional carbon.

We also have a problem of topsoil erosion.

Sequestering atmospheric carbon into plant life would ultimately result in more topsoil.

We take top soil for granted in the US, but most land is actually unarable (China, Mongolia, Bolivia) — which is why China had mass starvation in the 1950s.

          • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

            Like I said: Silly.

Worse than silly to have it highlighted, and you double down.

Higher co2 will create more bio mass, all things being equal, but the DOWNSIDE is such increases are going to interupt the human eco-system.

Can’t you remember what the AGW issue is all about?

            FOCUS you silly rabbit.

          • Hmeyers says:

            I didn’t double down …

Double down to what? Loss of topsoil is major challenge.

The US has lost an estimated 10% of topsoil due to erosion in the last 8 years.

Whether or not your interest in the environment is limited to being a one-trick pony is up to you.

(nor highlight, where did I do that? Did you watch eclipse Trump-style w/o glasses?)

          • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

…………….BEFORE……. we got the more topsoil, we, or most of us, will be dead.

            The future is hydroponics.

            Totally irrelevant….. x2.

          • NewFormatSux says:

Don’t be coy. Bobbo supports the idea in SnowPiercer where the little people eat bugs.

        • jpfitz says:

Hmeyers, I’m with you on the top soil depletion. The raising of carbons that leech into the atmosphere won’t necessarily help topsoil before damaging the climate.

Isn’t topsoil of today made from human excrement today. Steamy and has all the nutrients to grow crops.

          Funny Shit

          • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

Almost no topsoil is made today….. thats why its being lost.

To make up for loss and deterioration of topsoil, we use FERTILIZERS.

            ……made from oil.

          • ± says:

            jpfitz, bobbo, both posting inanities?

[Sorry to have wasted that question mark]

  5. bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

Its always the money…………with maybe Trump being an exception with it being a raging ego as well.

    https://wired.com/story/trump-2020-campaign-money/

    • Hmeyers says:

Where were you when the Clinton Foundation took Hillary’s generous charitable contributions — tax deductible! — and then paid her lavish travel expenses and Chelsea’s salary?

Or Obama getting $3 million for a speech in Europe.

Offtopic more — who in Europe was paying for that $3 million speech? I bet it was European taxes or something funded by European taxes.

Governments — they love spending other people’s money.

      • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

If Justice were blind……every President and member of Congress would be in jail.

Whats your point with where was I?

RIGHT HERE===>Posting that the Clintons were horrible lying people and belonged in Jail……….. but nonetheless……… still slightly less odious that the Pukes lined up against them.

Thats “our” Democracy in action. Not one man one vote…..but run thru the fraud/money machine.

        Nothing new.

        • Hmeyers says:

I was just saying be thankful Trump wasn’t using government money and is using election funds.

So someone out there wearing a MAGA hat paid for it, not you. 🙂

          • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

            Read my link.

            We are paying for it.

          • Hmeyers says:

It is an interesting article. I guess there are a number of ways how money from the government flows around.

        • Hmeyers says:

          “If Justice were blind …”

There were jokes about Trump momentarily looking at the eclipse.

Here is a rapper who watched the whole eclipse without protection:

          Monday:

“This ain’t the first solar eclipse and I’m pretty sure our ancestors ain’t have no fancy eyewear. Also pretty sure they ain’t all go blind.”

          Today:

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, my Cleveland, Chicago & Toronto shows on the #EverybodyTour are cancelled.”

          https://www.spin.com/2017/08/joey-badass-solar-eclipse/

          That wasn’t a good idea.

          • NewFormatSux says:

Tucker Carlson made some jokes about how awesome it was for President Trump to look at the sun, greatest achievement ever. Other media actually took him seriously and mocked him for it.

          • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

Too bad Denying Science doesn’t have the ignorance fall as narrowly as staring at the Sun does.

As stated…. I did it too as a kiddie…just lucky I stopped soon enough to prevent serious damage. “Just enough” that I can detect the damage when I look carefully. docs at my pilot exam did not pick it up…………. “So Close.”

The attitude that you know something when you don’t know anything at all though is all too common.

            Just look.

  6. Atomic Wedgy of 11/8 still Chaffing? says:

“Someone tell Trump the Election is over.” ??

Tell the Dems and Fake Media the Election was over on 11/8/2016.

See how easy that was to correct? You’re welcome.

    • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

Its always the money…………with maybe Trump being an exception with it being about his raging ego as well. Can’t work with Congress, World Leaders, or his own Family …. might as well go out and make some money for myself and throw some red meat at my unbelievably moronic red neck base.

      https://wired.com/story/trump-2020-campaign-money/

  7. McCullough says:

Unfortunately, elections are never “over”. They all start fund raising as soon as they’re elected. It’s one of the reasons I NEVER contribute……NEVER.

I give my money to the SPCA.

    • Hmeyers says:

That reminds me of the monks — even though I also do not contribute money to political campaigns.

The monks live a life of spiritual reflection, relying on food donations.

But if everyone were a monk, and no one a farmer — who would feed the monks?

Democracy is the absolute worst way of choosing leaders, except for all the other ways.

    • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

True…. but in context “the election” has meant the most recent one and usually no one runs for the next election (4 or 6 years away except the House which indeed is running all the time) until the next midterm is over.

Trump is unique because “to run” you have to declare. When you declare…. you can raise money in a totally fraudulent self serving way the way Trump is demonstrating…… but you also become a target for all those who don’t want anyone running except for themselves or their chosen monkey.

Oh!!==Trump is unique because he is already the target. I don’t think Trump will get impeached. I don’t think Trump will get nominated either.

Now……..lets get gambling on politics legal in the USA so I can make some big money.

  8. NewFormatSux says:

Trump is playing the game the Dems invented and is beating them at it. High level guy in Bernie’s campaign has written how Trump is stealing their ideas, their language, their methods, and getting huge small dollar fundraising while the Dems are all about attacking Trump which Bernie Bro says is a short term gain only.

According to the fundraising numbers it’s not even a short term gain. I don’t get why the Dems can’t raise money off of opposing Trump? RNC has beat them by about 10-1. Is it just playacting by all the liberals when they talk about Trump?

    • Hmeyers says:

I’d watch out for other side effects.

      Trump has both parties disrupted.

Democrats – Scream and yell incoherent ramblings.
Republicans – Frozen in their tracks, not sure what their agenda is.

The main sign of disruption is when a group can’t clearly communicate what they stand for, why they stand for it and where their ideas lead.

Neither party is able to do this at the moment.

And Trump’s idea are a short list of issues that may be difficult or nearly impossible to make meaningful headway on.

“Fix NAFTA” – Specifically — how?
      “Infrastructure” – We’re broke
“Tax Reform” – Maybe some minor true reforms, but no meaningful tax cuts because “We’re broke” listed above.
“Healthcare” – Political football no Senators want to really touch.
“Wall” – Problem was never really a wall but lax enforcement.

      What remains?

I think we’ll be in the status quo for a long time. I do think some minor tax reform will pass, nothing very fancy.

Maybe limiting home deduction so super-rich don’t abuse it. Some other small fries. Maybe some light streamlining and a minor cut for corporations to repatriate some taxes, but it won’t be major.

      • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

Nice review. I could only answer (highly partisan I assume) or dither. And who wants that?

    • NewFormatSux says:

Oops, I forgot most of the difference comes from the money they spent on Ossoff.

  9. Jeff Carson says:

This is very disappointing. I voted for Donald Trump hoping he’d run the U.S. like a business. Instead he acted like a child. He’s not a good leader.

    • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

Ha, ha…….kinda like saying you hoped your surgeon would act like a butcher.

Business: no model for government. Trump just the worst example showing why. More stalwart personages (eg Tiller) have their own deeper crimes….but indeed they have learned to hide them.

    • NewFormatSux says:

That is one part. He is quietly changing lots of management procedures- speeding up permitting, deregulation, his budget director is cutting unnecessary programs.

      • bobbo, we think with words and flower with Ideas says:

Yep. So true. Who needs the State Department when you know every problem has a Military Solution.

        Silly Hooman.

  10. Terrence Brennan says:

Yes, and someone needs to tell the Democrats the election is over too. And the Republicans. And the media.

    • jpfitz says:

      ANNNND, your point Is?

What happened to keeping your enemies closer, Not to berate and ostracize your political base. He’s on a political sinking ship, supporters at the rallies don’t rule the Congress.

  11. Juegos Friv says:

hahaa, Trump can dish it out but he can’t take it.

  12. NewFormatSux says:

Will Democrats realize the election’s over anytime soon? John Podesta’s brother was representing the same organization that Manafort was advising, but likely they will ignore that and still declare RUSSIA!
