Even though I have not thought about, or used CIS in many years, it was my “first”. I am a bit saddend hear abouts it’s demise.
I fondly remember many hours spent in forums, and just exploring UUNET and making friends in the chatrooms. RIP CIS!

why did she parade her young daughter out on stage like a beauty pageant mother, and stand there for her entire speech?
If she wants other people to respect her family’s privacy… shouldn’t she stop doing this these things to her kids?

The Administration is not done punishing her for daring to try and rally the right and block The One. The word has come down from the Debt Star at 1600 Penn Avenue to finish her for public office forever.

With the Justice Dept, the IRS and the FBI doing his bidding, they will cook up something. And the MSM will rebroadcast their talking points without a single question. (expect Helen Thomas to “be retired”…maybe a big thank you and go away party at the National Press Club where they hand Keith Olberman her seat number.)

This is a lesson to Repubs…stop trying to stand in the way of history, or Chicago-style things will start to happen to you.

Joined Compuserve in 1978-79. Logged on with my Heathkit H8. Kept the account a lot longer than I needed it.

Another service I liked was PC Pursuit. It provided no content. It just provided access to an “outdial” modem in twelve cities around the US for thirty bucks a month. One of those cities was Denver. There was a free bbs on the University of Denver that provided Internet access for free. Using PC Pursuit I was able access the bbs from coastal Georgia. The speed was 2400 baud.

The bbs is no longer associated with the university but it is still there and the home of my oldest Internet email address, welkins@nyx.net.

Whoa, some of you guys need to calm the hell down. It was a JOKE; yes, in somewhat poor taste, but funny nonetheless. DOB stated several times in the article that doing this is actually very stupid and will get you executed, let alone arrested. Well, that’s kind of obvious, but still. Cracked is actually (in my opinion at least) a pretty damn funny little website that gets looked down on because it started as a crappy ripoff of MAD magazine. Well, the website is different. Check it out, but only if you can take a joke without hoping the feds will arrest whoever told the joke.

#5–Jim==heh, heh. Why the fuss of your mischaracterization? How many Govenors step down “for the good of the State?” Huh? How many?

Comments, not protests, are issued because Palin is NOT a nobody and she does have Political skills. Why do you dissemble so?

I think both “good” republicans and liberals want the incompetency of Palin revealed so that the minority party can gain credibility to provide balance and conservative input into the runaway Obama train.

Wouldn’t America be better served without empty suits/skirts being proped up because of their fund raising abilities?
