Study: Parents Eat More Fat Than Other Adults

For the first time researchers have counted up the fat consumed by adults living with children and compared it to the amount eaten by those living in child-free homes.

They found parents eat an extra 5 grams of fat daily – including 1.7 grams of the most unhealthy saturated fat linked to heart disease. That’s around one-quarter of the total ‘permitted’ amount of fat an adult should be eating a day – and equivalent to a pepperoni pizza a week in saturated fat alone.

Living with children also means you are more likely to eat foods such as cheese, ice cream, beef, pizza and salty snacks, says a report in the Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine.

Dr Helena Laroche of the University of Iowa led the study, which looked at questionnaires completed by 6,600 adults living with and without children who were asked about their consumption of high-fat foods.

    The number of FUPA’s are on the rise as well. I have seen FUPA’s swallow entire desks, pets and children. They are usually found on scooter shopping carts. Small countries could be fed with the food packed in these things. You’d think when you can no longer see your genitalia that you’d put the fork down. Forks are not shovels.

    Why parents are getting fatter? One simple answer: They eat the food their kids leave on the plate.

    There is NO real deffinition of WHICH fat, or WHAT fat.
    I will say, that MORe and MORE products are cooked/fried with canola and soya, then anything sence the 70’s when we cooked it ALL in lard.

    It isnt BS, the problems come with WHAt we are eating, and what corps are trying to feed us.
    The body WANTS nutirian, and if we aint getting it, IT craves MORE.
    Then comes the idea that SOMEONE has posed the idea that FAT is bad… Natural fats are GOOD for you and are needed. What is the MAIN problem is WHAT fats they are TRYING to feed us.
    Canola(rape seed oil) and Soya, ARNT natural oils.. soya has to go through 4 major processes JUSt to be made ediable. Rape seed is a natural poison.

    I think it could be a case of the non-parents being more likely to be single, and therefore, staying in better shape to attract someone.

    Maybe I’m an exception, but since I re-married, I eat fewer garbage meals and snacks and many more full course, in the dining room, family meals. We just have the finances to eat at McDonalds all the time.
