Other Voices — Al Garza: Border Patrol Agents Get Prison For Firing At Suspected Drug Dealer — There are a lot of accounts about this story, but all of them are just nutty. Our government took the side of the smuggler/illegal alien over that of the Border Patrol. Incredible. Bush came out in a a speech and said something about “procedures” not being followed.

Discussing this outrage is Hispanic American and the #2 man in the Minuteman movement, Al Garza, who is outraged over this atrocity.

How is it that U.S. Border Patrol agents can get over ten years in jail for doing their job, firing at suspected drug dealers?

Well, they did.

And they got the book thrown at them because the U.S. government gave IMMUNITY to those suspected drug dealers to testify against the U.S. agents.

Give it a few years and we’ll see the illegal aliens from the US in Mexico….

  2. G-man says:

Please check the facts on this one … these guys were BAD COPS who really deserve to be put away based on abuse of authority and attempted coverup of same. They didn’t know he had pot in his van, they knew he was unarmed, tried to beat him, actually shot 15 rounds at him, and then lied about it, never thinking he would return to seek justice. We need to set the right example – no one is above the law!

  3. Mike Novick says:

John I thought you hated having government agents shooting at people, and were against the war on drugs.

G-Man, you are a grade A Moron. Check your own facts before you open your mouth and show everyone how stupid you are!

#2 You have no idea wtf you’re talking about.

The illegal alien drug runner ran from police and reached into his pants turning around. I wouldn’t wait around to see if it was a gun he reached for and neither would law enforcement.

Afterwards when our stupid attorney general gave his guy immunity to testify against the border patrol agents he was caught trying to run drugs into the country AGAIN.

Then the prosecutors had that sealed so the jury wouldn’t know. A bunch of crooks all of them.

The border patrol guys broke protocol and deserve the general administrative suspension/firing whatever but not 11 years.

  6. SN says:

I’ve said this a million times but it’s still true. Corporate America wants cheap Mexican labor coming into this country. The Federal Government does what Corporate America wants. Thus, the Federal Government’s goal is to allow unfettered access between Mexico and the US for anyone willing to come.

This case against the agents is just a warning to any other border patrol agent who decides not to play along.

HMMMM I think Gman work for the goverment

  9. Les Hildenbrandt says:

Hmm, I am the DA, who am I going to offer immunity to?
The cops who’s supervisor told them to pick up their brass, or the illegal alien with 700 pounds of pot?

  11. chuck says:

The border guards have now learned an important lesson.
Next time any border guard is chasing a drug dealer across the border, the know the correct procedure is to pursue the dealer, and keep shooting until they know he’s dead. Then dump the body in a ditch. Problem solved.

  12. chuck says:

So, if you’re robbing a bank, and the police shoot at you, you can testify against them. The police go to jail. You keep the loot.

    WAR IS PEACE
    FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
    IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

The sealed indictment of Davila from his arrest for drug smuggling in October 2005, after the incident involving Agents Ramos and Compean. Had the jury known that he continued to smuggle drugs after obtaining immunity, they would undoubtedly have decided differently.

    * Davila’s multiple violations of his immunity agreement. This required him to not withhold any information. However, he refused to divulge the names of his fellow smugglers who picked him up at the border. The jury was not allowed to know about this.

Bush is considering a pardon for these guys. A full one. I read it 2 days ago on Reuters.
