Immigration: The Human Cost

These vids are getting mixed reviews, but you can see the potential. This is funny no matter what side of the argument you’re on. As an aside I think we’re going to be stuck with these embedded ads too.

    Excellent post.
My thanks to John D. & Bubba for providing such a good laugh at the end of a long work day.

  2. John Ehrlichman says:

The Onion has always been a bit overrated. They need to learn some tips from the Daily Show.

  3. Misanthropic Scott says:

Just what I needed on a Friday afternoon!! Thanks.

Oh, and #2, I was under the impression that it was the other way. I believe the onion has influenced the Daily show among others. I personally have been a long-time fan of the onion, since about 1996.

Good stuff Bubba, brought a tear to me eye. Worthy of a Guiness.

  6. James Hill says:

The Onion prior to a number of editors leaving Madison for LA and NYC was better, but it is still one of the few sources of humor that is consistently funny… something Jon Stewart needs to work on before taking Letterman’s spot.

  7. Dugger says:

“I refuse to work so it has been very hard on us…”

That line says a lot about some people in our culture.

  8. doug says:

excellent! not as good as the absurdist Onion Radio News, but still funnier than most.

  9. Dave says:

The “Ex-EVP” now a bus boy at TGIFridays. Could make as much money as the waitresses he complains about if he would show a little more leg! You have to work the crowd baby.

  10. noname says:

John, please post that address of the Raymond Boyle Fund. I (and many other DU readers) would like to send him cash to help him in this difficult time.

  11. The Onion seems to me to have been running out of ideas lately. There is a limited number of things in the world that you can say about “area man”.

That said, the video made me laugh. It’s reminiscent of a couple of British TV shows that spoofed TV new in the early nineties – “The Day Today” and
“Brass Eye”, starring the contraversial Chris Morris. These got a little contraversial when “Brass Eye” did an entire episode spoofing what it saw as the media hype over paedophilia.

  12. Tom 2 says:

That is actually really funny. I think that this could be have some potential.
