A Chinese woman claims her cat has grown wings.
Granny Feng’s tom cat has sprouted two hairy four inch long wings, reports the Huashang News.
“At first, they were just two bumps, but they started to grow quickly, and after a month there were two wings,” she said.
Feng, of Xianyang city, Shaanxi province, says the wings, which contain bones, make her pet look like a ‘cat angel’.
Her explanation is that the cat sprouted the wings after being sexually harassed.
“A month ago, many female cats in heat came to harass him, and then the wings started to grow,” she said.
However, experts say the phenomenon is more likely down to a gene mutation, and say it shouldn’t prevent the cat living a normal life.

There are no free limbs in a cat that could evolve into wings, for a decent mock-up, she would have to cut off the front legs first or at least bend them up to be the wings… oh that people don’t understand evolution.

As someone with a bit of in depth knowledge of genes and development, this seems to be an unlikely mutation, especially if they have bones as the article claims. The growth would require several protein gradients, only expressed in the fetus normally, to be activated along with several mitosis genes. If they have such signifigant mutigens floating around China to cause that I don’t think we have to worry much about their economic ascendency; they will all be dead in ten years.

Worst? This in’t bad at all, I started to fel itchy under my backskin a few days ago, I might be crazy but I think my body has developed wings, sort of like this cat did. I can control the feeling now but couldn’t at first. I was looking up humans getting wings and here I am… If it is wings, then i’m alone on earth to have them, and that will draw unwanted attention. =(
