Florida highway police have called on anyone missing two big bags of pot to call their office. A crew picking up rubbish along the Interstate 4 highway near Tampa in Florida yesterday made an unusual find: two big plastic garbage bags stuffed with freshly harvested marijuana…

It probably fell off or was thrown from a car on the interstate road. The plants appeared freshly picked and some had intact roots.

The inevitable question: How much did they really find?

  1. Peter iNova says:

It’s a ruse. They’re really trying to get the public to pick up any black plastic bags seen by the side of the road. That will save them tons of truck time in the long run.

A follow-up story will be issued in three weeks, to energize the seasonal trash activity…

  2. OvenMaster says:

I’ll bet the people who lost the bags will actually be stupid enough to try to claim them.

  3. Improbus says:

Why would anyone harvest the whole plant? I guess they could be disposing of plants from a suburban grow house. I think I would mulch/chipper the plants first. Then again they could be smoking their own product.

  4. hhopper says:

I’ve been out on the highway picking up black bags all morning.

  5. Angel H. Wong says:

Down here you could see some 2 pound packages of “corn flour” floating on the sea, I bet they’re more expensive than trash bags filled with pot.

  6. emeryjay says:

It’s simple. The perps threw the bags out because they thought they were being followed by Polk County deputies who have been known to accurately return fire when attacked during highway stops.

And they wanted to avoid the “you boys been eatin” dope again?” question.

I heard a copspokesman on the radio
saying it’s really a big public education deal and they’re getting tons
of crank calls but it’s all good cause
it’s reminding people that ‘drugs’ are
bad and a bunch of ‘drugs’ we’re taken
out of the school yards. Very affable
    fellow… it’s all a big joke. Shit,
they don’t know what to do with it, I’ll
    handle it.

  8. Rich says:

Well, there’s the need for extensive quality testing before it’s catalogued and added to evidence…

  9. Improbus says:

You know, there is very little detail in the article. They say there are plants in the bag but they don’t say if there are any buds on them. Plants without the buds are as worthless as any literal garden weed. $54,000 for two garbage bags of marijuana plants is pure bullshit.
