A story based on the Three Little Pigs has been turned down from a government agency’s annual awards because the subject matter could offend Muslims.
The digital book, re-telling the classic fairy tale, was rejected by judges who warned that “the use of pigs raises cultural issues”.
Becta, the government’s educational technology agency, is a leading partner in the annual schools award.
The judges also attacked Three Little Cowboy Builders for offending builders.

I always found it odd that Allah would create something, then render it unclean. I mean the unclean ban is wholly religious, and has nothing to do with problems regarding the handling of meat in B.C.E. civilizations, right? LOL

Hey c’mon, you’re bringing rationality to a nutty conversation.
#37 Angus – You are correct. Pigs are unique in that we can can catch a cold from a pig and vice versa. Therefore aside from trichinosis eating pork could make you sick and even kill you. Therefor people figured out after a while that God doesnt want you to eat pork.
Its not just pork either – shell fish as well. With no refrigeration shellfish go bad within hours in hot temperatures and you could get sick or die from eating them. Again God did not want you to eat this.
One must remember there was no separation of Church and State as religion was everything – how you lived.
I think its funny seeing Fundamental Christians looking down on Fundamental Muslims who are living as if time stood still. If they were really “fundamental” Christians how they would live would not be that far off from Fundamental Muslims! LOL!
Christian roots are much closer to Islam then Judaism! What we see with Fundamental Islamic societies today is simply a window into living as Jesus himself lived!! How ye have forgotten! So if true Christians can’t see that then they are damned to the Eternal Lake of Fire(tm)!! Salvation doesn’t come easy now does it? Better get ready for the Rapture(tm) 😆

AFAIK, since Muslims believe that Mohammad(pbuh)is the last prophet, and that there can never be another after him, they also believe that all the answers to life’s questions can and must be found in the Qur’an.
Of course, this makes things interesting when highly advanced, “unanticipated” technologies such as food irradiation, gene splicing, space travel, etc. come into play.
I can only guess that these sorts of difficult scenarios might indicate that end-times are near.
I would further guess that a loop-hole will eventually be found that allows for just… one… more… prophet to deal with these issues. And thus yet another heretical schism is formed. No, this can’t be technically a prophet. It will have to be a, uh, “Proxy.”

The first two pigs are indigenous peoples that build huts and stuff like that while the industrious capatalist colonistic values are implied through the little pigs. But of course you guys can’t see that through your racism

I don’t see how this could be offensive to the muslims because they’re not actually eating the pigs in the story are they?
Now if it was a story about muslims eating pork pie I could understand. But this is just political correctness gone mad!
Oh and one more thing to all you Anti-religious people and atheist extremists out there – stop bashing us christians on this site when its got nothing to do with us. In the Bible it says that man can eat all animals. We are very tolerant of other religions, and we’re also very tolerant of other detestable things such as homosexuality.

GET A LIFE! God is real whether you like it or not. England is a christian country and any immigrants who come to this country must be tolerant of our christian lifestyle.
