Why on Earth would she be carrying around her dead sisters ID? There is no doubt in my mind that she resisted arrest and that is why she was slammed into the car. That happens when you try to put an actively resisting subject into the back of car. I would also imagine alcohol was involved. Women are the worst drunks and act like complete assholes when confronted by police in that state.
Think they would have given this 6 minutes on the evening newscast if the victim was black? Probably not. White female victims make the best copy.
Any of you who heard about Bobby Cutts, the Canton Ohio Police Officer who murdered his pregnant girlfriend (convicted yesterday 2/16/08), same place, Stark County Ohio.
The initial arresting officer cam was probably not recording at first because he did not use his sirens when approaching the scene of the disturbance. It was naive of him not to use his mic when interviewing the people when first approaching to determine the situation. As for the jail deputies …imagine working a weekend at the county jail. The lack of training displays the accountability of the sheriff department in that community. I highly doubt it this was the first woman strip search were there was more than one male officer assisting or was present.
Police and Soldiers are nothing but paid thugs. I just smile every time I hear that one of them has been killed. It warms my heart.
I’m sure the families of the cops and soldiers that protect us from harm would be touched by your concern.

Perhaps they didn’t go far enough. Perhaps a plunger or nightstick up the wazoo, that’s been done before. How about some Rodney-Kingesque billy clubbin’ and kickin’? Why not just really go for it, and go Kent State on her?

While there is an increasing percentage of law enforcement officers who really are bullies and are attracted to the work by the appeal of getting paid to control others by force or threat of force, it is manifestly unjust to paint the whole occupation with the same brush. There are rotten apples in just about every line of work.

Why would anyone want to live in what is an apparent craphole — Canton, Ohio?
My guess is that the place has speed traps all over the place. I sure wouldn’t want to go to their Pro Football Hall of Fame if it is in Canton.

She called in the problem, so what?
She “leaned” on the police officer – bad.
She gave the officer her dead sisters id – to hide her identity? (obviously she didn’t want the cop to know who she was – why?)
You know the cop called in the ID on the dead sisters drivers license just to discover the lady in front of her was dead…
Then he questioned why she gave him a false id, and NOW all hell breaks loose.
Why didn’t anyone mention if the other woman she got in a fight with was arrested? She probably wasn’t.
There is a lot more going on here.

It’s not all bad, if you come to the Hall of Fame, they’re obviously not gonna mess with tourists. But it’s a small enough city that you’ll find in the cases like the one here, there is probably a back story you’re not going to hear about in the news; Maybe the cop who first responded knew the victim and had a grudge on her, that sort of thing.
There is something seriously wrong with the people trying to somehow justify this happening to this woman. I don’t care if she was drunk and being an ass, no one deserves this kinda of treatment from police. You should be ashamed of yourselves, its people like you that are responsible for letting this shit happen, because its never an outrage its always, “well she probably deserved it”. I am so angry now, its amazing where America is going, and it seems no one cares. I personally don’t like cops, whether they are bad or good, they are useless. With what Enigma (#8) said, it doesn’t matter if JPV said that or not, chances are if he really did need help the cops would either take there good old time getting there, if they got there at all. You wouldn’t believe how scary it is when the cops ignore your 911 calls for an hour, after 11 calls, no cops and a guy trying to kill your family. Then after the last 911 call starts “shots fired, someones dead” the police, fire department, and EMS all show up in mere minutes. You then realize that police are never there when you need them, and exactly why the second amendment is so damned important.

The Shanghai plant has been expanded a couple of years ago as the Chinese can assemble a certain model ATM in less labor hours than the US (15 vs 17) forgetting the difference in wages, of course. I did some work for them a few years back. 🙂

Funny thing, my wife and I were talking last night about a Chinese newlywed couple that was on holiday in France who got abused and thrown in jail et al and they did nothing at all. We both laughed about what a shame that didn’t happen in the US as they would have “won the lottery” in a sense.
We then went on thinking and laughing on how easy it would be to set up a “innocent” situation where one could get abused by the police or security guards and later sue for millions. We imagined something with a “Muslim” angle would do it for sure.
Sure this story is horrific but what I want to know is how much is she going to get out of this? Why not ZERO? Why not just the people in involved get fined / fired et al along with pubic apologies of course.

11 – JCD – AMEN. There was a book about Air Force One which contained an amusing anecdote about President LBJ. For whatever reason, LBJ harbored an intense dislike for Ohio and most especially its elected representatives. Because of this, he directed the crew of AF1, that whenever they were flying over Ohio, they were to empty the holding tanks, and if they were flying NEAR Ohio, they were to alter course to fly over Ohio so they could empty their holding tanks. Had I known before he became President that he was going to do that, I’d have voted for him. : )

I have never seen, or known of anyone that has ever received any help from cops. All they do is shrug their shoulders at crime scenes.
I’ve also had a family member assaulted by someone in the military and the policed lied about the evidence to protect him.
That sort of help I can do without. Fuck them.
While I am sure that alcohol was involved, it does not excuse the actions of the original Police officer for arresting a victim or the Deputies.
