Future? That was me last week!

  2. Benjamin says:

I need to research how much it would cost to pave a landing strip and build a quonset hut near every major city and then buy some planes to operate between them. I might need some shuttle buses to take people to the real airport to catch connections to cities I wouldn’t operate in.

I bet I could make a lot of money by selling tickets at a single price (not adding fees) and not having a contingent of TSA. Would possibly argue it violates the Third Amendment. Just bypass the airports.

  3. pedro says:

Yeap, that’s no future. That’s today.

  4. sentril says:

I just had a friend that went through hell when he tried to cross the canadian border.

  5. pedro says:

#4 When all is set and done, flying to and fro Canada is worse than doing so in the US

  6. awesome123 says:

you should all look at the positive of the new security measures. Now that everyone is gonna be naked walking through the airport it will encourage us all to stay in shape. Keeping fit will extend out life expectancies and really piss off al-queada.

  7. sargasso says:

Male authority figures. Ultimately, it’s really all about getting other men naked.

  8. The0ne says:

Should have had a beautiful women going through and getting scan ONLY to find out she’s got a little brother down there :D

  9. fpp2002 says:

#5, pedro, you obviously haven’t traveled between Canada and the US in years…it is FAR worse going south.

  10. pedro says:

#9 DFW-YVR & YVR-SEA. I was left without luggage for 2 days courtesy of the Canada Border Patrol doing the former; worst of all, they tried to pin that down on the US when I arrived, but they were bright enough to leave a card inside the luggage saying it was them.

The latter was a breeze and so was SEA-AMS the same day.

I did that less than 2 months ago, so I speak from experience.

  11. The0ne says:

Oh sht, you guys are serious. LOL, I apologize for that. I hadn’t realize it was this bad already ><!

  12. fpp2002 says:

#10, wow your sample of one trip really confirms your position. I however, live within 10 miles of the US-Canada border and I go across at least once a month, and I can tell you the US border agenst are far worse than the Canadian ones.

  13. Guyver says:

Go get a pilot’s license and fly privately. You won’t have to put up with any of the inconveniences the airports levy onto travelers.

  14. pedro says:

#12 I missed the part where you’re forced to go thru metal detectors & x-rays machines while you cross a land border.

  15. fpp2002 says:

#14, I missed the part where I said I was going across by land. I’m in sales and I travel almost constantly by air.

  16. pedro says:

#15 Oh I don’t know, the “live within 10 miles of the US-Canada border and I go across at least once a month” part? Why the heck would you fly if you live 10 min from the border?

And still, Canadian frisks at airports are far worse, be it internal or international flights. Used to fly there every week & sometime twice a week for 3 months there.

  17. fpp2002 says:

#16, the destinations I fly to are not usually within 10 miles of the airport, that’s why I fly. How long ago did you used to go? If it was more than a few years ago, then I might agree with you. The US border guards have gotten far worse; they’re paranoid beyond belief.

  18. deowll says:

Sounds like more people are going to be using go to meeting or whatever.

  19. qb says:

pedro, it’s just you. Nobody else. You’re on the list. They’ve checked it twice. They know you’re naughty, not nice.

  20. pedro says:

#18 I have proposed that many a time. could have avoided at least half the trips. Unfortunately, no go.
