Christine O’Donnell, who is backed by the Tea Party Express, is running in this week’s Delaware Senate primary against Rep. Mike Castle. Castle, a former governor, has been winning elections in Delaware by large margins since 1966, and in any normal year his victory would be assured. But this year, nothing can be taken for granted.

O’Donnell’s views appear to be particularly extreme, even by Tea Party standards. In 1998, she told an MTV interviewer that masturbation is the same as adultery because “the Bible says that lust in your heart is committing adultery. So you can’t masturbate without lust.”

In an article written about the same time, the fiercely Catholic O’Donnell declared, “When a married person uses pornography, or is unfaithful, it compromises not just his (or her) purity, but also compromises the spouse’s purity. As a church, we need to teach a higher standard than abstinence.”

O’Donnell’s character sanity has also become an issue in the campaign. She recently told the Weekly Standard that she doesn’t give out the location of her house because it was broken into and vandalized during the 2008 campaign — even though there is no police report of any such incident.

They’re following me,” O’Donnell claimed. “They follow me home at night. I make sure that I come back to the townhouse and then we have our team come out and check all the bushes and check all the cars to make sure that—they follow me….They knock on the door at all hours of the night. They’re hiding in the bushes when I’m at candidate forums.”

She’ll fit in well with the rest of the Republican Party.

  1. Let me jump in before someone beats me to it:

  2. King Alfred the Great (Jerk Off) says:

#120 It is said your brain is so large, you can look through a key hole with both eyes. Is that true?

Yup !!! You have it folks. The bible condones abortion and infanticide. So if you follow Jesus, you better start killing kiddies. For confirmation, just read Mathew 15:6.

  3. King Alfred the Great (Jerk Off) says:

    #125, John C.

Is that a picture of Alfie’s sister? I understand his sister is an only child?

  4. runs with scissors says:

    point taken JCD

just using irony in order to mock and bait this myopic Alfred character for sport (Shooting fish in a barrel)

of course Beck is not the Antichrist and Christine O’Donnell is having something she said many years ago taken out of context.

As improvable as it is that there is a god and if so that Alfred has a lock on what that is mocking that belief is being rude to all the reasonable people who have faith. Sorry Reasonable People

  5. clancys_daddy says:

By the way it appears she won.

  6. tcc3 says:

The who with the what now? Oh the topic! =)

  7. Ah_Yea says:

    Yup, clancys_daddy. She won.

If I didn’t know better, I’d say Obama was a Republican plant.

He’s done more good for the Republican Party and Gun Sales than anyone I can think of.

  8. Ah_Yea says:

If you want further proof, watch the video from ABC news. Just get through the ad…

  9. eideard, harvester of butt plug crust says:

Wow, MTV is the source of O’Donnell’s statement on monkey spanking!!? The same network that has been sued for a program that had males consuming ex lax and taking a shat on unsuspecting females? Do lesberals and jews share a gene that creates a fascination with lying and excrement? Or is it that the 666 viewers of Rapechel Madnow’s show just cannot fathom that MTV and MSNBC are degenerate lying pieces of trash that should have been exterminated prior to the jewish coming out party of the 1960’s hippy libby flea bag disease parties that brought us STD equality for all.

Rapechild Madnow only has one STD, but she got it from an illegal immigrant whore house, and her name was cuntessa, so that doesn’t count.

  10. Awake says:

She won! That is fantastic! Hurray!

She won the primary… now even if she gets ALL the conservative votes, she still loses in November, because there probably isn’t an independent that will vote for her. More likely, most conservatives won’t vote at all, because they won’t vote for the Democrat, and they wont vote for a a recognizably loony Republican. So basically tea partiers will be the only ones to vote for her, all 5% or so of the population.

One more Democratic seat saved. Thanks Tea Party!

  11. GreatAmerican says:

OH NOES! Someone with a different point of view from me won a primary. Surely this is the END OF THE WORLD. Summon Maddow, Matthews, and the crazed former sports commentator to slober over this bit of news.

Good for her victory but life goes on guys and gals. Don’t like the outcome? Participate in local politics to get your person elected. Ain’t it great how the big game works?

  12. Jeff says:

These people scare the hell out of me. They subscribe to foolish Utopian ideals that most of us (may have, or may not have) when we were young adults, but as we got older and matured we realized the misplaced ideology did not work in the real world.

I have never been religious, at least not in any organized sense. I, however, did consider myself to be a libertarian between the ages of fourteen and about twenty. It, however, became harder and harder to rationalize this type of thinking into read world principles.

This movement is little more than a delusional fantasy that hearkens back to the 1960s. It is not a 3rd Great Awakening. It is the counter to the what was the counter-culture. This is not sanity or moderation, but a radical agenda by people who are mentally unbalanced, and want to change the very nature of what our country stands for.

In summary, these people are clueless, careless and a threat to the very survival of our society.

  13. bobbo, libertarianism fails when its Dogma blinds them to the rising threat of Corporations that can only be held in check by Government thru the will of the people says:

#138–Jeff==Yea Verily, and worth repeating for its importance:

“In summary, these people are clueless, careless and a threat to the very survival of our society.” /// As so many have said, even Alfie and his ilk would not “really” want to live in a society that he would initially propose. Sadly, some lessons need to be experienced personally as reading history or having empathy for those around you is not sufficient to inform.

Silly people desiring and hoping and voting against their own self interests. Dupes/Tools/Teabaggers/Single Issue Voters. The Pyrrhic victors of two party winner take all primary systems.

  14. N. M. Obama says:

She says some crazy things, but Biden said paying taxes is patriotic. I’ve never heard anything crazier than that.

  15. Jeff says:

You must be joking? Is that meant as some form of dead pan sarcasm (i.e. paying taxes).

Do you consider it your patriotic duty to not support the system that is there for you (gov. services, common defense) and the like because your “special?”

I would agree that it is a poor choice of words, and like Joe Biden seems to always do, he puts his foot in his mouth at every opportunity, but this is by no means the craziest statement made in the past week even. At least their is a rational for it.

  16. MikeN says:

Bill Buckley never followed his rule as some sort of iron law. He supported Joseph Lieberman on the grounds that at least you don’t get irritated every time he opens his mouth, though Lieberman sounds physically irritated every time.

Supporting ODonnell even if it loses the seat may have strategic value since it would signal that the Republicans are breaking from their big spending past.
