Al Gore — He did it again.

Recently, Nobel Peace Prize winner Al Gore toured again. Or maybe he does that all the time. This time, he turned up in Gothenburg (Sweden) for the usual alarmist talk. In advance, all distinguished guests were politely advised to – if possible – use any form of public transportation to go to the event, in order to minimize CO2 emissions.

Intriguingly, the Master of World Climate himself arrived in a rental car (with or without driver is unclear), from the airport, and subsequently left the engine running for the entire lecture. That is to say, about one hour. Incidentally, local legislation prohibits – for very good environmental reasons, i e pollution – any car engine running on empty for more than 60 seconds. Fines are severe. As far as I know, he was not fined.

It starts to form a pattern.

After the ceremony in the Norwegian capital Oslo, it is customary that the laureate is invited to the Swedish capital Stockholm, for a cordial visit. The train ride, supposedly the environmental choice according to Mr. Gore, is approximately four hours. However, he opted for the cosier ride with one of the Swedish government aircrafts. As these can, according to the rules, only be used when a cabinet member is on board – and as the Swedish government after a short ceremonial visit – offered to fly him to Frankfurt (Germany) for his flight to the US, you can calculate both the manpower and the fuel used for this grand tour against man’s destruction of the planet.

Either he’s just plain stupid, arrogant or both but he does not seem to be helping his case much. Maybe an intervention is in order for this “self destructive” behavior.

This story must be true ! It’s on the internet.

  2. Sparky_One says:

Seriously, the clown is a politician. Reset you expectations lower.

  3. Likes2LOL says:

The inside of Alfred Nobel’s casket is showing a lot of wear…

  4. Dallas says:

I get the importance of governments needing to deal with the global warming.

Whether this Nobel prize winner and champion of getting the message out forgot to turn off the car engine means nothing to intelligent people.
This “news” is merely friday entertainment for the simple minds.

  5. B, Dog says:

I figured he was the worst sort of swine, and then me#12 posts the wonderful home he may or may not know he owns — what a surprise — what a man!

  6. Earth says:

Looking at the comments at this blog makes me feel moronic for reading these posts. If I’m half as stupid as the people who post comments around here, I’m in real trouble. How does one blog attract so many hopeless losers with such low IQs?

  7. Faxon says:

That’s OK> I drive a company tv van with a gas powered generator with NO emisions controls at all. I run the damn thing nine hours a day, even when I don’t need it, just for the hell of it. It puts out TONS of carbon monoxide. I have a CO alarm in the truck, and it never seems to go off, however, because the fumes all go to Oakland, I guess.

  8. LotsaLuck says:

It cracks me up when libs knee-jerkedly come to the defense of totally indefensible fellow libs.

You know that if conservative exhibited – or even allegedly exhibited – this level of arrogance and hypocrisy that the libs would be all over it like cheese-wiz on a cracker.

Which makes me wonder — why haven’t we heard from bobbo? Isn’t his shift guarding the Barrack Obama entry over at Wikipedia just about over for today?

  9. MikeN says:

    >Gore’s _SUPPOSED_ hypocrisy doesn’t change the science of global warming and you act like it does! That’s just dull thinking.

It does change the science. There are 3 Working Groups in the IPCC report, and the third deals with policies to adapt or prevent damage. The general statement is that the pain is minimal, etc. Yet here we have a primary spokesman who feels that there is a personal loss of comfort in reducing his emissions.

  10. bobbo, Pedro's donkey came a shiat! says:

#31–Greg Allan==kudo’s. Nothing more to note.

We here this “identification argument” all the time: if you are against tax cuts why don’t you give all your money to the government? Genius, and yet it passes for analysis these days at the highest levels===or is what we see pure pandering?

What do YOU think sweet charitable Greg Allan==are these people “really” this stupid, or merely playing to people who are?

  11. Chris says:

I live in Gothenburg Sweden. Love the town! Water, Boats, Beer, Blond girls, and meeee !

    cough cough……

I do not think Al Gore is a scientist, Maybe he is a entertainer. A real persuader. Have no faith in his work. Get a real job.

Stop polution my town ! Yo Assho..

  12. Al Gore says:

For God’s sake: Do NOT turn off the Limo. Y’see; it’s all part of a pattern.

  13. Buzz Mega says:

Either the article’s writer is just plain stupid, arrogant or both.

  14. Lou Minatti says:

“I do not think Al Gore is a scientist, Maybe he is a entertainer.”

Fat Al barely squeaked through college with a “degree” in journalism, and even then he flunked a lot of the courses. After graduation his daddy, who made millions selling tobacco to cigarette companies, got him a job leeching off of Tennessee taxpayers.

  15. clancys_daddy says:

Al Gore the REAL cause for possible human caused global warming. No really Al Gore not his limo.

  16. Alf says:

The BS meter is pinned. It must have been posted by an SB.

  17. longterm says:

Total BS, as is the stupid carbon footprint graphic. Gore took an old house in Nshville and spent thousands installing solar and other technologies to make his home entirely energy self-sufficient.

Neocons stick their heads up each others’ a**es and convince themselves that it’s cozy and warm.

Sad thing is that Dvork posts this crap to get page views. He’s off my reading list. Again.

  18. DaSarge says:

Me? I think that the Swedes couldn’t get old Al out of the country fadt enough. And THAT’s why they didn’t fine him for leaving the motor running during his lecture; they wanted him O-U-T, and not waiting for a court date. Same same with the airplanes.
