Example of unbiased, US media coverage in the middle of the action

On one side (the one the Obama supports wholeheartedly) are the Israelis who say they are just protecting themselves from terrorists wanting to destroy them.

Israel bombed dozens of targets in Gaza on Monday and said that while it was prepared to step up its offensive by sending in troops, it preferred a diplomatic solution that would end Palestinian rocket fire from the enclave. Mediator Egypt said a deal for a truce to end the fighting could be close. The leader of Hamas said it was up to Israel to end the new conflict it had started. Israel says its strikes are to halt Palestinian missile attacks.

On the other are the Palestinians who see Israel as oppressing them.

Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip erdogan described Israel on Monday as a “terrorist state” in carrying out its bombardment of Gaza, underlining hostility for Ankara’s former ally since relations between them collapsed in 2010.

His comments came after nearly a week of Palestinian rocket attacks on Israel and Israeli air strikes on the Gaza Strip. An Israeli missile killed at least 11 Palestinian civilians including four children in Gaza on Sunday.

Given how the Israelis treat the Palestinians, one has to wonder who has the better case.

“They are now not allowing desalination plants in and water purification plants in and without water you cannot live and the UN report stated that by 2016 that the water in Gaza will be undrinkable and by 2020 the aquifer will be beyond repair,” said Derek Graham a pro-Palestine Irish activist in a Wednesday interview with Press TV.

The Israeli regime denies about 1.7 million people in Gaza their basic rights, such as freedom of movement, jobs that pay proper wages, and adequate healthcare and education.

This is interesting.

In the Torah the God Yahweh demands that the Israelites invade neighbors and murder them. In exchange for the fresh blood, the Israelites get their neighbors’ stuff.

Consequently, it doesn’t matter who lived on the land first. When God says kill, you obey.

Its no accident Judea-Christian lands became the freest and most prosperous in history…and modern rejection of that tradition led to the fall of the empire and rising poverty and tyranny.

As for ancient Israel, and God’s purpose to establish it in the Land of Israel, as Maker He has that right.

All those nations ancient Israel dispossessed were given fair warning, by what happened during Exodus in Egypt. The report of that went everywhere, and therefore all who chose to fight Israel, were fight God by choice.

        You can’t defeat God.

Replacement theology is impossible for it is written:

Who do you think will officiate during the Millennial Kingdom in the Temple Ezekiel (c. 40ff) prophesied would be built?

The text you cited does not say the Church gets all the promises God gave the Jews…It says in Christ, who is their Messiah also, all the promises God made will be fulfilled, are all “YES”:

For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
            (2Co 1:20 KJV)

Replacement theology is eisegesis, the Jews have a glorious future in Christ…and yes…they will be Christian Jews…

But recall, we Christians are Jews on the inside:

But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God. (Rom 2:29 KJV)

Because the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is One, and His Name will be One, and the two peoples called by His name, will be One under the same LORD:

And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one. (Zec 14:9 KJV)

I think it unwise I take offense at those still blind to the Gospel, Paul didn’t. And he said God would open their eyes when He comes:

25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.
            26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;
27 For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins.”
28 Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers.
29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
30 For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience,
31 even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy.
32 For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all.
33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! (Rom 11:25-33 NKJ)

I am convinced not one child of Abraham, Jew or Gentile, will be lost…even if they must go through hell first, to lead them to repentance…God will save them, for He is their God.

And look at what it has done to discredit the Gospel and sap away at the viability of the Message.

“29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.”

And they have not been revoked, they have been made available in the continuity of Christ.

“through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy.”

            Through Christ.

“I am convinced not one child of Abraham, Jew or Gentile, will be lost…even if they must go through hell first, to lead them to repentance…God will save them, for He is their God.”

So why is it then that many of my fellow Americans enable the ‘State of Israel’ so that they never hit that rock bottom condition that convinces all that they need Christ as every person does? With every dollar, gun, bullet, tank, political sacrifice that is done and given in the name and for the ‘State of Israel’ those who continue to this day in their two-faced program of receiving all these gifts from those they call goyim, all the while laughing and mocking those goyim for giving it to them. Liberals always seem to hate Israel, even liberal Jews. Its amazing.

    • Nate says:

That’s because since 1948, there hasn’t been a stable peace in that land. 11. Uncle Patso says:

What a Gordian Knot! The resentments of dozens of groups going back almost as far as all of recorded history tie this area of the world into knots of daunting complexity, from the movements of various populations chronicled in the Old Testament, to the predations of the Roman Empire, up to the two World Wars and into the 21st Century.

The case can even be made that the illness that struck Woodrow Wilson in 1918 (possibly a case of the influenza that killed 25 to 50 million around the world), leading to the differences between his famous Fourteen Points and the Treaty of Versailles had an effect, in that the onerous terms of retribution imposed on Germany led to the second World War, which allowed the heinous Nazi “Final Solution,” which led to such worldwide guilt that the partition of Palestine and the founding of the State of Israel seemed like a good idea to the Allies and the United Nations.

Not being a big student of history, I don’t know what ought to be done about it all, other than this: bombing and killing populations, by any group, is evil, and should be minimized to the greatest extent possible.

At least you didn’t run with the picture of a Palestinian kid hurt by Israeli bombs, which turned out to be an Israeli kid hurt by Hamas rockets.

Principles of Geneva Convention and general rules of war, are that you differentiate your targets, civilian and military, and that you differentiate yourself from your civilian population. Israel tries to hit military targets, while Hamas launches rockets and actually prefers to hit civilians. Also, Hamas makes no attempt to distinguish itself from civilian population, placing weapons in mosques for example. This is also a desired goal, as it restrains Israel in its counterattacks, and gives them propaganda weapons for their media war, in which Uncle Dave has now enlisted this blog on the side of Hamas.
