    When I don’t have as much money I spend less. I assume prudent rich people do the same. So far as I can tell it was already hard to make money and it’s about to get a lot harder. I see no likely hood the economy is going to pick up and several things going on that could and to be fair already should have knocked the bottom out of the economy. We had something like the 15th best situation for someone to try and do business in. I’m thinking we are about to be somewhere below Cuba.

    The good news is the destitute can get free medical care an if you aren’t destitute you will pick up the tab and the bad news is free medical care looks like it’s going to mean take a number and wait….

    Stupid Republicans, EMBRACE Clinton Era Taxes, end the Bush Tax cuts…it was a bad republican idea.

    Obama convinced me, so did the DNC. They’ve railed against the Bush Tax Cuts for years…and they won the Election.

    Embrace the Clinton era taxes…

    Then argue we return to the Clinton era spending…and have surpluses again.

    AND we return to the Clinton era regulations…

    Then the economy will boom!

    If I were Boehner and Cantor, the negotiations would be simple.

    First Obama and I would go off the fiscal cliff together, like Thelma and Louise.

    To Obama offer of maxim taxation and no spending restraint…I’d counter with the “CLINTON TRIPOD” as the true mid way position.

    In contrast to Republican extremes of low taxes and small government, we return to the spending and government of Clinton.

    As we all know, that was a time of great success….a booming economy….everyone paying their fair share….clean water and air…

    Its that simple. Obama gets what he and the DNC wanted…an end to the hated Bush Tax Cuts.

    They Get Clinton era good government.

    They won, lets make the win official.

    I wish people realized that raising taxes on business owners does not take money from said business owners.

    It takes money from their customers — the ones wanting the tax increases. Businesses do not pay taxes. Customers do.

    When prices go up, expect interest rates to go up. And then we are really going to see some interesting times.

    So go ahead. Raise my taxes. You’ll be paying for it so break out that checkbook.

      For your logic to be true, more business taxes means more customer cost, then if the Government gave money to business they would pass it on to customers!

      How nice that GE and other companies want to be legal people without any of the responsibilities. How much many has our government spend defending GE assets (ass) here and around the world!

        That’s exactly what happens…when costs are lower, business lower their prices….and if one doesn’t, then his competitors will take market share when they do.

        The free market works.

        Even better, when Government doesn’t rip off business, over regulate, and throw them to the mercy of legal extortion…they return from overseas and make products here.

      They don’t have a clue, common sense is subverted by modern educators, leftist theory took its place.

      Its elementary. If it takes 8 cents to make a donut, and its sold for 10 cents, a 2 cent profit exists that can be taxed. The remainder must pay the cost of making future donuts, or its bankruptcy time.

      So if the Government takes away the margin for new donuts, by higher taxes…as business has two choices: 1)they decrease costs by laying off employees; 2)they raise prices.

      Often competition is so fierce, 1 is the only option as 2 causes loss of volume which raises costs and brings on bankruptcy.

      Its that simple.

    Under Pres Clinton Social Security was pulling in surpluses of hundreds of billions of dollars, while now it is a deficit of a hundred billion and growing. So right there, the Clinton surpluses are gone.

      I’m not convinced Republicans will get the blame for ending the Bush Tax Cuts…its what the Democrats have promised they would do for years….so how is it the Republican’s fault when they get their way?

    Obama’s tax hike raises about $80 billion dollars a year. When will he come up with the other $920 billion to balance the budget? Or at least the $620 billion to cut the deficit in half? Or the $420 billion to at least cut his own increased first year deficit in half?

      The unstated premise is Obama wants to fix things, therefore balancing the budget is one of his goals.

      But if Obama does not want to fix things, then everything he does can be explained…even predicted.

      If your premise was Obama would always choose what harms the country, over what helps it….all of Obama’s actions from Inauguration till now are explicable, even predictable.

      Notice I speak of actions…not speeches…Obama misdirects from what he is doing via speeches.
