Burning buildings on Tottenham High Road

What’s on your mind?

  1. NewFormatSux says:

Mainly because the media deliberately distorted the news to stoke racial fires. The prosecutor was a wimp and let the grand jury say no charges, when he should have just dropped it, just like with TrayVon Martin.

    • Kiwini says:

      Yes indeed…

Dr. King is spinning in his grave.

    • NewFormatSux says:

The message is apparently that if whites don’t stop stereotyping black people, blacks are going to loot and burn.

  2. steve says:

Even if all of the excuses are accepted as true, Darren Wilson killed Michael Brown not because he had to, but because he was allowed to. Police regularly go to extreme lengths to exhibit dominance
over anyone who offends their inflated sense of legal power.

    • concerned resident says:

      Good point.

    • Jeb says:

” Darren Wilson killed Michael Brown not because he had to, but because he was allowed to”

I think that is true. Once he was out of the car, his life was no longer in danger, and he could have used pepper spray.

  3. NewFormatSux says:

    Greg Gutfeld sums it up:

The media is writing their reports like Children’s Stories because they conceive of their audience as essentially children, whom you must protect from jarring facts which might teach “the wrong lessons.”

People were willing to set strangers’ cars on fire because they were absolutely certain what happened, in a sequence of events they did not personally witness.

  4. scandihoovian says:

eight+ local businesses torched. dozens of cars torched. zero government buildings harmed. this was an opportunist’s wet dream.

  5. spsffan says:

Why I haven’t seen such devastation since the Lakers won. Or lost, I forget which, but it makes no difference to the type of “people” who do this.

    And they can vote!

  6. Duh! says:

The hatred and distrust of authorities and “the system” in Ferguson is the topic. It is no longer is about the death of Michael Brown. The fact that a police officer cowardly shot an unarmed “thug” is only the spark that lit the fires that are now burning in Ferguson. The only thing that makes any of this violent reaction any worse is how NO ONE is really addressing what people are so pissed off about — abuse of power.

We see it everywhere! Police cowardly point weapons (anything from pepper spray to AK-47 machine guns) at people they regularly UNCONSTITUTIONALLY demand compliance from (anything from a demand of ID to laying face first in the dirt) and you don’t think SOMETHING is going to burn?! YOUR CRAZY!

  7. Dave Phillips says:

So, a grand jury found no prosecutable evidence against a cop who shot and killed an unarmed person. Does that mean that it’s OK for a cop to shoot an armed person?
    The law is an ASS!

  8. Tim says:

    What’s on my mind??

If they’re gonna randomly break stuff then it should be the tools of the oppressors. Like those streetlights. Insideous things — nobody ever looks up because we’ve all aquiesced into not ever seeing past them.

  9. To all the brave tough guys sitting in their basement surfing the web says:

How close would you let a brown bear on his hind legs get to you before you shot him because you knew he wasn’t going to stop?

    • Tim says:

How far away would you let a brown car get before you shot it because it turned around at a ‘safety’ checkpoint??

  10. dade0 says:

    What’s on your mind?

This isn’t about race. There are much more blatant racial injustices that could be used to make a case other than this case. This is just a diversion to get us at each others’ throats and not ‘theirs.’ People – thinking ones, ones paying attention, don’t buy whole cloth what the media and govt spew at them anymore.

  11. Phydeau says:

Let’s see the video of the incident. If the authorities are afraid to release it, what do they have to hide? Might it look like a police officer shooting someone down in cold blood? I’m just wondering…

    • Phydeau says:

Nah, who am I kidding? The perp could have been face down with his arms and legs spread when the cop shot him and the wingnuts would still say the cop was justified.

Wingnuts looooove them some police violence, as long as it’s not against white people like that racist nut Cliven Bundy.

      • Carney says:

Yeah, just who are you kidding, that’s just a fantasy in your mind. But I agree, where are the cell phone videos. Everybody on the street that day had a phone. Could it be because the video shows the opposite of your delusional fantasy?

Otherwise, it would be all over You tube.

        • Phydeau says:

You could be right. Let’s see the video.

          • Carney says:

So what are your thoughts that the eyewitnesses won’t, cant, or aren’t able to upload the video from their cell phones.

I have searched the web for any video of the shooting, and its not out there. Or if it is, maybe it confirms the findings of the Grand Jury and nobody wants that right?

            Smells like fish to me.

          • Phydeau says:

Several eyewitnesses said he was standing still with his hands up when he was shot.

And I have no idea why eyewitnesses with video wouldn’t upload it to the internet. Told by the police not to, maybe?

If it confirms the findings of the GJ, the police would want it out there. It’s not out there, so either (a) it goes against the GJ finding, or (b) it doesn’t exist.

        • NewFormatSux says:

Only video seen is one where in the background you hear two people talking, and one of them corroborates Wilson’s story.

    • NewFormatSux says:

Even when they had the video of Rodney King’s beating, the media edited it to make a standard takedown look like police brutality.

      • NewFormatSux says:

When they had the audio of George Zimmerman’s phone call, they edited ‘He looks like he’s up to no good. Dispatcher:Can you tell us what race he is? He looks black.’ into ‘He looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.’

  12. Phydeau says:

A picture is worth a thousand words… let’s see the video.

    • Carney says:

Oh you must be referring to this video.

      http://youtu.be/n2z5-H8NSGA

      • Phydeau says:

You know that’s not the video, but go ahead and make the case for the death penalty for shoplifting, with the cop on the scene as judge, jury, and executioner.

        • Carney says:

Sorry Phydeau, but apparently the death sentence came from Brown trying to take a man’s gun away from him.

Even if he wasn’t a cop, the shooting would be justified.

          • Phydeau says:

If you’d gotten your news somewhere else than Fox, you’d have seen that they wrestled at the police car, then Michael Brown walked away. Death sentence after the danger of the cop losing his gun is over? Go ahead and try to make that case.

          • Tim says:

I wholeheartedly concur, Phydeau. But still, he did turn and trip *right for him* after being shot again… What is a mad-ass, State-trained coward to do??

        • Carney says:

And by the way, you do recognize the difference between shoplifting and assault by a 300 lb. man after shoplifting. Why do you not defend the Indian merchant?

          • Phydeau says:

Come on. Death penalty with cop as judge, jury, and executioner for assault and shoplifting?

          • NewFormatSux says:

They honored Michael Brown’s memory by looting the Indian merchant he shoplifted.
Phydeau doesn’t support Indians because they take away tech jobs from his buddies. Maybe if he realized they voted 80% for Obama he would change his mind.

        • Carney says:

My news was from CNN, try again.

  13. Carney says:

This is a terrible example to waste your energy on.

For me, the most unfortunate result of this is the fact that there are so many good examples of police abusing their authority, mistakenly SWAT teaming citizens in the middle of the night, white and black, shooting their dogs, , choking out a man on the street over selling illegal cigarettes, and on and on.., that to use this as your prime example, just negates anything you are trying to accomplish.

And then to see the dumb animals in the street burning down their own community, is just a real headshaker. Makes you wonder why this one incident was chosen for people to rally around. I can only assume that they’ve been manipulated into this, and I have my suspicions about who is behind it.

    • Phydeau says:

This is why people think you wingnuts are racists, referring to black people as “dumb animals”. Just FYI. Did you refer to Cliven Bundy’s white thugs (pointing guns at cops) as dumb animals? No, you didn’t. None of you wingnuts did. But black people, yes.AS

And this isn’t the “prime example” of anything. It’s just one in an ongoing list of black people being shot down under suspicious circumstances. There have been previous examples, and there will be more.

      • Carney says:

I saw many white people in there as well, and yes, they are dumb animals. Stupid white people are manipulated as easily as stupid black people. And Its your prejudice that chose to take that as a racial slur. And that tells me a lot about you.

        • Phydeau says:

I’m totally convinced, Carney. But I suspect a black person might be a little suspect.

          • Carney says:

Sorry man, choose a better example, and I’m onboard with you, but not this one.

Someone is pulling the strings here.

  14. The Blog Whisperer says:

Even my dog has enough sense not to shit in his own bed.

  15. Phydeau says:

Evidence is coming out of how suspicious the GJ was… for example, the DA always explains what the charges could be, where the evidence has come from. Not this time. He just dumped a big load of data on the GJ with absolutely no explanation. And there’s more. The prosecutor treating the officer with kid gloves, rather than as a suspect. The photo of the officer, after supposedly being punched hard several times, with no obvious marks on him. It smells.

    • Carney says:

Nope, saw the pictures, and you are wrong. This doesn’t pass the smell test. You’ve been played. And I really feel sorry about that, because I think your heart is in the right place.

You need to get past this.

  16. andrewa says:

Erm, while that is a picture of black people looting, burning and rioting its a picture of black people looting ,burning and rioting because a white British policeman shot an unarmed black man (the black man had thrown the gun away earlier)

    • NewFormatSux says:

Unarmed black man rushing at a cop while grabbing for his waistband.

  17. andrewa says:

Correct British cop response in that case is to bash “perp” over head hard with a stick (truncheon) or belt an arm or leg so it breaks the skin badly and disables that particular limb.
