The Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood shooter mentioned “baby parts” to investigators implying that his motive was the highly edited videos created by the anti-abortion group “Center for Medical Progress”. Earlier the year CMP released several videos that falsely claim that Planned Parenthood is in the business of selling baby parts.
It makes me wonder if CMP might also be criminally responsible for the latest Colorado Springs abortion clinic attack. If for example I yell “fire” in a crowded room and people stampede and someone gets killed because of what I said, that’s not free speech – that’s manslaughter.
Similarly – if someone creates a fake video saying that babies are being chopped up and sold for parts and some nutcase believes the video and starts killing people, isn’t the author of the video criminally responsible too?
Regardless of the criminal responsibility there definitely is a direct causal effect between this shooting and the video and the cops killed would still be alive today if CMP hadn’t made the false video.
For someone who claims to be in the church of Reality, you are very quick to declare something fake without explaining why.
Somehow, even Planned Parenthood is not so quick to declare this guy a right wing pro-lifer. Heavily edited or not, I watched and heard these women discuss pricing of human fetus tissue and parts. So I have no idea where Perkels delusion stems from.
I suspect he is thinking of these media stories that attacked Carly Fiorina as lying about the videos, because they show two separate sets of footage together to depict what the person is saying.
Activist journalist Wesley Lowery, claimed on twitter to have heard from a Planned Parenthood employee that mentioned “no more Baby Parts” as he was escorted from the premises. Later when Lowery wrote his actual story for the Washington Post, the Planned Parenthood employee had become an “unnamed law enforcement source.”
Is it possible that the fake here is not the videos but Marc’s statement as to why the shooter was there?
This is a guy without electricity who would end up with more knowledge of internet videos than your typical newsviewer. Many of them had no idea what was being talked about in the Republican debate, because Donald Trump had brought in so many viewers who don’t regularly watch FoxNews.

I don’t know what the baby parts connection might be, but my first thought is that the parts are from dead fetuses…not alive babies. Yes…most fetuses are alive before the abortion but the abortion would have taken place, harvesting or not. Stupid to waste organs that can save another life.

It surprises me that Marc has fallen for (or knowingly propagates) this talking point. This post is a great example of how one can say something which may be true but is definitely deceptive. Saying something is “heavily edited” does not mean anything about the content or context, the parts that matter, being manipulated. Even the first article cites the PP-originating study (from researchers who had very little of the data) that says the videos “did not reveal widespread evidence of substantive video manipulation.”

I’ve wondered the same thing, Marc. I’ve wondered if those “baby part” stories were fabricated. (And if they were fabricated, why have they not been denounced by the gov?) It’s come to where I don’t trust our news media anymore regardless of which political extremist views they endorse. I’m beginning to notice that other people see what I see, too.
When we talk about the “free press,” we’re talking about freedom from government influence. Maybe we need “freedom from profiting by lying.” Stop using propaganda techniques on us. In plain English, we could use some integrity in the press. Americans suddenly growing brains is not in the cards.
The MSM has become much like Russia’s. Propaganda and a circus sideshow then more fear. What to believe, where to get reliable info. In today’s chaotic fast paced news cycle you’re better off not looking at the tv or the web for at least twelve hours. Otherwise it’s all speculation from the media.

First, CMP released the full videos, unedited, which videos were found to be just what CMP said they were. A simple google search confirms this.
Along with this, if Planned Parenthood wasn’t selling baby parts, then why make the statement that they will no longer be selling baby parts?
Second, Why are we talking about these videos, which were proven to be accurate, and dismiss real lies like:

The video is FAKED, along with the purposely editing done to make it seem real. Not only should the makers of the video get charged with inciting a TERRORIST attack, but also the Republicrats who kept pushing the video into the limelight.
