Big Airliner Takes First Lucky Fliers

The first commercial flight by the world’s largest passenger plane, the Airbus A380, will fulfill a rich man’s promise to his 91-year-old father and grant a college student’s birthday wish.

Outfitted with the most luxurious cabin ever seen on a jetliner, Singapore Airlines flight SQ380 will fly 3,900 miles from Singapore to Sydney on Thursday, carrying travelers ranging from businessmen to college students and aviation enthusiasts.

Most of the places on the 471-seat double-decker plane were auctioned for charity on eBay, raising more than $1.25 million.

Here’s the Wikipedia entry on the largest, most luxurious airliner ever built. How can you tell? It has it’s own duty free shop and a restaurant for starters. Check out the Airbus A380 website.

#62 actually a mega disaster like one of those big planes falling out of the sky is something that an engineer takes into very serious consideration. I’m sure that the A380 will have all the latest safety features on it. engineering is a prominent occupation in my families history so I should know that for any engineer safety is the number one concern.

Sounds like a bunch of boohooing Europeans, Asians, etc… complaining at other complaining Americans. I can tell you this. I’m American. I don’t care at all about who the hell is making the bigger plane.

Logically, this plane is taking up a lot of space, a lot of fuel, a lot of ozone, and a lot of other stuff to kill our planet. But as competitive as some people there are, go for it. If you want to kill the planet faster, go ahead. I can seriously care less, because when this planet does die, I’ll be long dead.

So many non-Americans can complain about Americans, but if you hear them out, they are making a lot of sense. Most of them are not even thinking about competition or America being behind or whatever. That’s only the corporate world. People who comment usually aren’t part of the competitive business. They’re just concerned.

And honestly, this isn’t even the largest plane. So not necessarily another Titanic. The largest plane has flown and it’s still here (though, it’s used for cargo and not actual passengers-it’s also the heaviest plane to fly in the air.)

Not another Titanic. It’s just stupid that they’re thinking more about luxury rather than convenience where we stick as much people as possible without over-weighing in one plane to fly.
