Yes, yes. Every administration, Republican and Democrat, has those who are corrupt, inept, etc, it’s just that this one seems (luckily for us) to have people who were unusually adept at getting caught. And there’s still a whole year to go! Below is just the first few names and positions they held. Lots more where that came from. The article also describes what each did. [NOTE: Link fixed]

Eric G. Andell (deputy undersecretary in charge of Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools), Claude Allen (Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy), Lester Crawford (FDA Commissioner), Brian Doyle (Deputy Press Secretary, Department of Homeland Security), Steven Griles (Deputy Secretary at the Interior Department), …

Conversely, there are folks who hate the Clinton administration too:

  2. ethanol says:

But the irony here is that when this Bush administration took office, they claimed they were going to restore honor to the office. HAH!

  3. the Three-Headed Cat™ says:

The continuation of a Republican tradition, it is. But their 41 (by this count) doesn’t hold a candle to the Reagan regime.

When Bush 41 took office, over 100 members of the Reagan gang were in prison, on probation, on trial or under indictment.

…but there’s still time for the Chimperor’s posse to catch up. 🙂

  4. MacBandit says:

I would be willing to bet that both parties are equally dirty. In fact any more I see very little distinction between the parties.

  6. MikeN says:

You should change the headline to indicted, convicted, pled guilty, or resigned. At least a dozen entries were X resigned while being accused of doing Y.

Perhaps, I’m lowering the standards after the last few decades, but this strikes me as evidence of a lack of criminality, with Scooter Libby the only major figure other than Paul Wolfowitz, who was railroaded for trying to reform the World Bank.

  7. MikeN says:

The list should also include people who fled the country to avoid investigation, as well as pleading the 5th.

  9. Matt says:

Can’t wait for the kooks at “dvorak.org/blog” to get in a BDS huff about that and start crying conspiracy …

  10. moss says:

    I guess Suzie-Q doesn’t want more traffic.

And MikeN thinks Wolfowitz wasn’t bounced for getting his honey a raise and a sweet gig. That’s right. Cronyism has been validated by the decider-in-chief.

  11. OhForTheLoveOf says:

#9 – Kooks and conspiracy go together like peanut butter and chocolate…

or say, Bush and Haliburton… (but I digress)

  12. Phillep says:

Yeah, I took a look at the earth shattering horrors the Bush administration perpetuated, and yawned. Does the Clinton list go down to such trivial misdeeds?

Of course, some were fun news, like the ATF and Gonzalez (both are anti constitutional rights).

Now, how about a death list? How many people with connections with Bush ended up dead?

  13. OhForTheLoveOf says:

#12 – Now, how about a death list? How many people with connections with Bush ended up dead?

Bush is the Commander in Chief of the US Armed Forces? What is the death toll in Iraq now?

  14. MikeN says:

I think the guy who claimed Bush was arrested for cocaine ended up dead. He said he was arrested sometime in the summer, and a judge, somewhere in Texas, expunged the record. This guy was set to be the next Sy Hersh I tell ya.

  15. MikeN says:

That Clinton list is a yawner.

  16. Gman says:

    to quote David Brin:

Which president was the “sleaze” subjected to a $2 billion witch hunt?

    * The one who left office without a single administration appointee indicted for official duties? (Not one. Not even one.) …
…or the next president, who (despite bullying the FBI) loses comrades to jail or ignominy almost every week.
