Typical Nigerian Scammer Proving He IS For Real.

Visit NEW Dvorak’s Cage Match Forum Here. The Nigerian dude is now the mascot and appears on the logo.

This note came in from reverse scammer (and Cage Match fan) “Padme.”

So, after much cajoling I was able to get my 419 scam artist to send me a photo of himself NAKED holding a sign saying CAGE MATCH. hahahaha.

419 is a Nigerian legal code for fraud. 419 scam artists are the folks who send you fake lottery notices and letters saying that you can claim millions as the next of kin to some assassinated African prince or some other such rubbish. In reality, they are responsible for stealing millions from people every year and occasionally have been known to kidnap and kill their victims. I enjoy the art of scam baiting which is using a fake identity to engage with the scam artists posing as a victim whilst making them do silly things (all because they believe there will be a financial pay off).

In this case, the scam artist thinks he is talking to Reverend Daniel Iago, a dotcom billionaire who left the industry before the bust to found St. Timothy’s church. The values are simple: love the buddy Christ (ever see Dogma?) and don’t wear pants. Here’s the fake blog I set up for the church. — Padme

[violation of posting guidelines..but thanks for playing]

  2. Who exactly are you aiming this comment to? First of all we had nothing to do with that joke site that seems to offend you. Also none of us are commies that I know of. And that is a group I have never found too understanding so that confuses me too. Loosen up dude.

    My advice: read this

As long as there are gullible people, there will be 419:ers. Anyway… Here’s my my favorite 419 counter-scam. Check out the images of the wooden keyboard and enjoy the reading. 😀

John… Ask James Hill and he’ll point out the commies among us… 😉

  5. We first covered this sort of thing two years ago here:

Just watched the interview you posted. Just too hilarious that he’s sending them heavy junk and they pay for it… I would love to have seen the scam artist’s face when he opened the barrel. 🙂 I do have to agree with him on that it’s better that people like him “keeps the line open” with these scam artists instead of them praying on yet another gullible person.

  7. Max Bell says:

Great choice for a mascot — the spammers have been shooting par in cage match with real posts for a while, now.

Really says something that so few readers actually post there, themselves — what does it mean that someone would rather use a plain old textarea than an actual forum? That the person hasn’t ever seen a real BBS, probably. Lotta young punks on this interweb that have never seen a modem that didn’t accept coax or USB.

Either way, it’s still freakin’ sissy.

Shame 1 was in violation of the posting guidelines, but then the “quit picking on Xians” whines never get old for me — mostly because they always seem like an invitation. Nothing inspires debate on the issues like hot-button cliches to keep the public polarized and at each other’s throats.

  8. Lee says:

See if you can get the “church” a life size buddy jesus from these guys. props for pwning these guys.

  9. Greg Allen says:

Anybody worried that reverse-419ing could lead to violence?

Some of these guys are mafia, right?

BTW, they often use Dubai as a transfer location if it involves a personal contact. A recent one seems to be claiming that a few millin in Iraq money was smuggled out by printing over the paper with black ink. Then they will sell you the special chemicals to remove the ink!

I tried a reverse 419 last year. Sorry, but I don’t have what it takes to do a good scam.

My hat is off to those who can pull it off. It looks like great fun and makes for entertaining reading.
