First let’s start with the ongoing WordPress review.

Ok, so if you look down the on the left you’ll find alien text that I dropped into the index.php to see exactly how hard it is to mix html and php…it’s easy actually once I re-adjusted the width of that column. Of course this is cheating and I have to be able to add alien content via the css style sheet seems to me. I would think that the content would be brought in in some other way than just putting it in by hand. I suspect a php maven will eventually join this forum and after much ridicule set me straight on the “proper” way of doing this.

I’ve also received two complaints from people who tried to register on the site and got nowhere or the password manager didn’t work. Both are experienced users. So there may be some weird bug at work.

Finally there seems to be some confusion on the part of the WordPress system concerning the upload an image feature. I can’t get it to work even when I use the suggested WordPress defaults. It has to be some toggle on the server itself I think. Hopefully that will be working by the end of the week.

New Ongoing Review to Begin.

I’ve decided to look at high-power 802.11 gear and use the one-watt amp sold by SMC to see if I can light up the grandstands of a nearby race track with an 802.11b beam (legally). I’m on a hillside about a mile away and can see the grandstand, so why not see what these devices can really do. It will be interesting.
