A soldier
A soldier “simulating” kicking an Iraqi detainee lying in a patch of water.

Photographs shown to the courts martial of three soldiers.

I have not seen these photos in the U.S. press much. They lead one to wonder just how many such photos actually exist out there. Have the rest of the Abu Ghraib photos been released?

Really disturbing photos which show the synonymical nature of man, ego and war. I wonder if this would happen if the world and its history was dominated by women instead. I doubt it.

  2. There is nothing we can do about it.

Nothing we can do about it….
Yep…the schools and the unrelenting pressures of the media have created a helpless cog in the grinding machinery, we’re just where the government wants us to be.
For gods sakes…..the Geneva Convention (50 years ago) was created to keep men, ego, and war from doing these kinds of things to prisoners. But, Bush (and the hispanic dude he just moved into office) found ways to suspend the Geneva Convention to allow this to happen.
Read Seymour Hersh’s book Chain of Command, if you want to get a chiling, depressing, but very informative, and interesting book on how this could happen. And, it’s a LOT worse than three people who were the scapegoats….

Should have never made it to Abu Ghraib

  5. jejer says:

im sorry, but most of these people probably deserve a lot worse than that, but the americans doing the torturing as seriously messed up in the head, i beleive karma should be the only punisher of these people, btw why do people always say if women ruled the world none of this would happen that is complete and utter crap, look at all the women criminals in the world, also a week out of every month…….the whole world would stop cause women everywhere are in a bad mood!!!!
