Is the old OS/2 scripting language making a comeback? Author of new book on Rexx brings us up-to-date on current developments. This exclusive essay includes some good links. I was a big fan of this language during my days as an OS/2 user. Sigh,

  1. Fábio C. Martins says:

IBM could release the source code for OS/2, since they say they support the open-souce community. Probabily there are patents involved, but they could release the parts they own.

  2. Richard says:

I’ve heard this before, but in truth Rexx predates OS/2. I first was introduced to it around 1990, and since then I’ve used it to to create many one time adhoc programs to interpret and modify data. I’ve also created more permanent process that still run daily. Of course, this in on a little known operating system that use to be called MVS, and is now called Z/os.
