E-Commerce News: News: Adobe To Acquire Macromedia for $3.4 Billion WOW. The end is near.

Combining two of the largest makers of software for creating and delivering digital content, Adobe (Nasdaq: ADBE) Latest News about Adobe Systems Inc. said Monday it will acquire Macromedia (Nasdaq: MACR) Latest News about Macromedia Inc. in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $3.4 billion.

Macromedia shares rose more than 10 percent in early trading, while Adobe shares sank nearly 11 percent.

    Yeah, after years of work and experience, Adobe still can’t figure out how to program for Windows. They can’t even figure out how to do something simple like remember the last screen position and window size when you reopen a PDF in Reader on the desktop.

    I’m a HUGE fan of Adobe and have been using them since even before they went digital.

    But man, this ain’t good. Someday Microsoft will swallow up Adobe and our e-cosystem will consist of one huge predator. And the prey will be us!

    That is if they are managed properly.

    —> Microsoft will never consume adobe its just too big

    —> Competition is good.. Companies merge. they get too big they raise prices and along comes the hungry little guy.

    never loose site of where you came from or you will fail.
    Consolidations cost allot of money and the failure rate is very high.
