Watching history go bye-bye
Sorry, Colts, you can’t win ’em all | IndyStar.com A run at immortality down the tubes for the Colts. Now the best they can do is be yet another winner of the Super Bowl. Big deal, someone wins that each year!
Now the season goes back to sucking as usual.
Loud, clear and concise.
It would have taken considerably more time to assess the appropriate blame.
Looking to join the 1972 Miami Dolphins as the only teams in NFL history to post a 14-0 record, the Colts instead spent the day dabbling in imperfection.
Exclude the two-play drive at the end of the first half that saw Dave Rayner miss badly on a 59-yard field-goal attempt, and eight of the 14 possessions by the No. 3-ranked offense were marred by some type of negative play: a sack, a penalty, a running play that hit a wall of Chargers; you name it.
To be honest I think they threw this game to get the press off their backs about going 16-0. I mean look at how they’ve played other teams the past 13 weeks, they blew just about everyone away. And as you stated the Chargers are nothing, nothing at all. I guess we’ll see.
It must have been a bad weekend all around. The Seahawks almost got beat by crappy Tennessee. We have Indy here next weekend and I’m guessing that they will be looking for redemption.
No big deal – focus on the ultimate goal – winning the Super Bowl. Rest some starters, even if you lose to the Seachickens … get ready for the playoff game in the dome against New England on January 14.
I would have to disagree. San Diego killed Manning all day. If they wanted to throw the game intentionally, I don’t think they’d risk the quarterback getting hurt.
I cried in my beer. Oh, woe is our team. Aah what the heck, there is always next game.
Darn they all still made more than most of us in a year in that game.
Boo hoo.
One sidenote however, all the old people who saw the last team go 16-0 will still be gloating about that until someone else does it.
Not this year however.
How is Sand Diego a crappy team? They’re 9-5, and have a solid win over the Colts and a blowout win over the Patriots. Plus their 5 losses are by a total of 14 points.
How dare someone who lives in such proximity to the Raiders call the Chargers “crappy?” Perhaps you are mistaking the stench from Oakland?
In spite of the snub, I still think you are okay.
OK, I finally found something to agree with AB CD on.
Yes SD is a good team. Either they caught Indy on a bad hair day or had a superior day themselves. But anyway, I will only give a slight tip of my hat, otherwise my bald spot shows too much.
OK, San Diego is NOT a crappy team, but their coach cannot win a big game. He’s not a winner. He’ll kill them with bad play calling or some poor decision or brain-dead clock management. The fact is that San Diego HAD to win this game and Indy did not. It will be interesting when both Indy and Seattle play since neither team will have to win that game. My prediction: scoreless tie! 🙂
