Cannot make up mind.

In Carter-Bush Duel, Dual Retreats – washingtonpost.com — Here is your classic Democrat in action. He says what he means then weasels out of it for whatever reason. Maybe he doesn’t want to get beat up or he thinks he is supporting the troops or whatever. If he thinks Bush is the worst in history, so what? Why say it then back off like this?

Carter was actually asked, “You talked about this war and how you believe its wrong: Which president was worse, George W. Bush or Richard Nixon?” according to an audio posted on the newspapers Web site. “I think as far as the adverse impact on the nation around the world, this administration has been the worst in history,” Carter replied. “The overt reversal of Americas basic values as expressed by previous administrations, including George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon and others, has been the most disturbing to me.”

  1. Jerko Jerry says:

You poor sods. Carter was one of the greatest presidents this sorry ass excuse of a country has ever had. Oh, I forget, in the US, a “good” president means you can barely read, have no understanding of reality or the rest of the world, and rely heavily on corruption and greed to motivate you.

Perhaps if honesty and intelligence was a trait found commonly in AmeriKKKa, you’d find folks like Carter a bit higher on the respected-lists…

Have you sorry pukes even read any of his books or writings? The guy was a genius compared to 90% of the people in this country. But you’d rather we have morons in charge and look the fool to the entire world. Pretty soon, all the smart ones will be gone, then you’ll be happy AND retarded…. for joy!!!!

  2. Gary Marks says:

Well, Malren, I suppose it’s time to point out the obvious to the casual readers who may have missed it. You showed me the articles you claimed to have read, and neither one supported your accusation that Carter claimed he was “misquoted” and that he tried to blame the reporter and destroy the man’s reputation.

Even if you’re able to somehow dig up a semi-credible source now that supports your claim, it’s clear that when you made the claim you had zero support for it. So it appears that you’ve become one of the lying weasels that you seem to despise. But at least you’re not alone — others of us despise you as well 😉

#32 – #1 Truth? when has Carter told A truth?

The most common criticism that I’ve ever heard of Carter was that his administration failed because he was just too honest to succeed. He was just too honest to withhold the bad news of whatever from the people. The malaize we all hear about… That’s the malaize of being crippled into a sinking depressive stupor under the weight of all that brutal brutal truth and honesty.

When did Carter tell the truth? Every time he moved his lips.

If Jesus Christ rose from the dead in 1976, chose Santa Claus as his running mate, and won the presidency, it would not matter if he cured all known disease and eliminated poverty and war for all time on a global scale… In 1980 he and St. Nick would be hittin’ the bricks.

America, reeling from years of devastating political failure, a shattered illusion of government integrity, and a bloody unpopular war, elected an unlikely southern governor based on his honest and simple appeal, and his genuine desire to achieve good… and when he naturally failed in the aftermath of a nation in chaos, they tossed him out on his ass and elected a cowboy who went on to make this a great nation for rich elitists everywhere, and despite Clinton’s best efforts, we haven’t looked back yet.

We could debate the reasons for the moderate successes and grand failures of the Carter administration… But the fact remains he has a character that is beyond reproach and he has achieved the most successful post office career of any 20th Century president.

That last sentence would be true even if Habitat for Humanity were his only accomplishment.

So whatever you think of the man’s political performance in office, let’s show some respect for the character of this great American who continues to serve his nation to this day, as he did with his entire life.

I stand corrected the unemployment maxed at 7.1

now that I have taken your abuse for one misquote how about any rebuttals on the rest of the crap the man left us with

I see you can not hold a sensible argument but simply go on about 1 misstated fact

I am taking back Tom DeLays seat in Texas for who wondered.

Mark, I welcome your vote against me, because it will an irrelevant vote in my district and will help to keep a useless liberal out the district your coming form

  5. OhForTheLoveOf says:

Guys who are sophisticated and serious enough to win a congressional seat, even one in Tom “Corruption King” DeLay’s district, don’t usually have enough time to blather about bullshit on blogs.

But then it is Texas… and what a proud history of world class political minds that state has produced…

  6. malren says:

Gary, this is pitiful. You’re trying to split infinitely small hairs while ignoring the giant log in front of you.

Carter lied, the reporter released the recording that proved it. I realize you feel like you have to somehow make this about red versus blue, but it’s not. It’s about Carter trying to smear a reporter to save his own butt, and the reporter releasing the audio that vindicated him.

That’s all there is to it. Anything else is just you trying to pick a party-over-fact fight to protect a Democrat from criticism.

Note: Not one word of that is in defense of Bush. I speak ONLY to Carter telling a lie and being faced with his own words.

    36. I am not a liberal, you think because I think your BS rantings are crap that makes me a liberal? Your just another fake Conservative, with a snowballs chance in hell. Its guys like you though, that make me want to lean more left, so keep up the good work. A politician that doesnt even know the economy is FAILING because of some hand picked indicators in the index. Loser.

  8. Pmitchell says:

Unlike most politicians I have a real job (selling steel strap) and doing so gives me many instances to get on the web during my travels through out the day at which time I try to counter some of liberal rantings on this blog

I found this through TWIT of which I am an avid listener and thought I would give it a try because I like ole Mr Dvorak and his rants on TWIT

mark if your not a liberal then I’m not a conservative wake up and smell the coffee your are a liberal, get some help for before it is too late

I am a conservative and a Reagan Conservative at that. Less govt , lower taxes, states rights , and most of all less corruption in Washington.
Delay got caught but not by the ass in Austin those charges are pure political crap and he will win that trail hands down. He did however take lobbyist money from abramoff and for that he deserved to loose his seat.

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Damn, that’s funny… Reagan’s White House made Grant look like an ethics professor. This is the same “I don’t remember” president who traded arms for hostages… This was one of the worst presidents… Was, I say, because Bush Jr makes Reagan seem like Eisenhower… But passing this guy off as a pillar of the community is a hoot.

I hope you like selling steel strap (whatever that is) because you are not going to Washington.

  10. George of the city says:

#35 Habitat for Humanity. Has ruined more neiborhoods’ institulised more poverty areas then any goverment program could have. Do gooders from rich parts of town come to my neiborhood tear down 100 yr old victorion homes then build crappy little homes that do not fit in the area thus destroying the nieborhood. Then they leave the new owner with a home mortgage that is more then the home is worth. This is JCs legacy!

  11. joshua says:

Reagan was a great President. Thanks to his policy’s Russians are now rich enough to be Republicans.

Carter is a very smarty man. But the worst politician since Herbert Hoover in the WH.. His time in office was a complete and utter disaster.
Since leaving office his work with HH has been ledgendary. But his **monitoring** of elections has been a farce. Any election with a winning left wing candidate is fair, any with a winning right wing candidate is unfair. Just look at his record.

When this past 100 years of Prsidents are scored, Bush the present will be the worst, followed by Carter, Harding. Reagan is already voted as the best or second best to Roosevelt in most surveys.

OFTLO….being a brilliant man dosen’t make for a good President anymore than being a dumb one does.
