Here is what Gary Shapiro CEO of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) said: Dvorak's writing sings with insight and clarity. Whether or not you agree with John's views, he will get you thinking and is never boring. These essays are worth the read!

New Orleans should NOT be rebuilt. Government should NOT insure properties that private insurance will not. And while white upper crust power brokers will probably continue to get this wealth transfer from the poor, such a program will certainly NOT be reciprocated.
Thank you Dave, I needed a good laugh this morning.
3. I agree bobbo, the city is below sea level, why do we never learn from mistakes?

Because the Netherlands is below sea level and yet it’s a well run nation.
6. Thats a good point Angel, maybe they keep their levees maintained. Its a shame we cant.
“Because the Netherlands is below sea level and yet it’s a well run nation.”
Well, because they had too – they had no choice they needed land.
Necessity is the mother of invention. 😉

Those shoes are PERFECT for the scuba diving crossdresser.
Lets try that the Netherlands do notget hurricanes…
Why you would build city on land that needs to be replenished by regular flooding is beyond common sense, and is immoral. (i just love using using the right’s aguments, against them!! )
New Orleans shouldn’t be rebuilt as it was. It should be built like Venice, and allowed to flood. It would be the only Venician city in North America, and would draw more tourism than ever! Why nobody else has proposed this simple, elegant solution is beyond me.
As for Holland – they have a different climate, where the winds are safe and predictable enough that windmills can run pumps that drain large regions, as they have for hundreds of years.
# 11 Great idea!!!
