The joys of Football. First half of your life spent doing it. Second half spent trying to recover.
Go CAL!
“As the clock wound down in the final minutes, the sellout crowd at Memorial Stadium jubilantly chanted “Pac-10 football!” at the departing Tennessee fans.”
Good game if you went to UCB!
I think it was an entertaining game no matter where you went.
With all that padding you wouldn’t think it’d hurt that much…..
This photo is perfect evidence for my thesis that all the intelligent football players in the world play on the defense.
Back-popping that even a chiropractor couldn’t do…
I NOW WILL CONSTANTLY FEEL LIKE A BIG ROUND HELMET IS PRESSING INTO MY SPINE, THANKS
I live in Knoxville and saw the picture in the newspaper. The fold of the paper is where his back is bending back. Just thought it was kinda funny.
Yet another football player who won’t be able to walk by 50. The 50 year old man (or older) pays for the foolishness of the 20 – 40 year old. How many hits like that can a body take?
Ahhhh. That gotta hurt.
#9 that is why qtr backs make so much money. Both qtr backs reminded me of Joe Montana. Except they weren’t as accurate.
A very great game however, I sense a rivarly has started.
There is no better feeling than taking down a Q-back.This comes from a 54 year old D-lineman that can still walk talk and dance. On Wisconsin.
Why is that the picture of the day? If you’re going to do college football, well all the big schools have been putting cupcakes on their schedules to pad their records, and this weekend, #5 ranked Michigan played Division 2 appalachian State, and LOST.
Hey I was at that game. All the orange Tennessee fans started leaving in droves at the beginning of the third quarter. Rats abandoning a sinking ship.
Great game. I wish everyone didn’t feel the need to stand for the entire game. A lot of fun though.
Any chance to provoke and harass the tree sitters is a bonus.

Uhm *real* fans stand and support their team, get loud when the game is most on the line. You’re complaining about fans standing and cheering for their team? What year are you in, 1950? Next you’ll be complaining about the fans not wearing suits and ties to the game.
It was a great game and gave that east coast media a big FU. So sick and tired of the east coast bias and their reporters in bed by the time the west coast kids get a chance to play. Only reason USC is #1 is because they are just so far and away better than any other team this year. My god if a team from the east coast was this loaded, we’d be hearing how it was a team for the ages.
Well it was the only game I’ve been to where everyone was standing for the entire game (except half time).
So, in CA the game was relatively close but in TN the game was a blowout. I was rooting for Cal and they played well, but they still have quite a bit to prove. Frankly the Pac-10 (other than USC) has yet to prove they can go on the road and win against a big opponent like an SEC team.
The SEC has trouble against SEC teams, so there is no surprise there. I think the focus of attention should be on the over-hyped and mediocre Big 10. They NEVER play SEC teams unless they have to in a Bowl. And they always lose.

You’re all gonna be looking over your shoulders for the Gators again this year. CHOMP!!!
If you don’t like to stand for the whole game, definitely never go to a Texas A&M home game — home of the 12th man (and copyrighted? go figure)

It’d be more entertaining if they wore no kevlar armor.

Well, apparently that’s true of 1-AA teams as well. ;->

Florida? hah
The PAC-10 is going to show a lot of the east coast media folk how strong west coast football is this year. USC, UCLA, and Cal are all quality programs who will finish the year strong. The SEC is by far the most overrated and overhyped division in all of college football.
