Google says Asians are the people who know how to do privacy right? What are they smoking? Google also wants someone to send a rocket and robot to the moon. Kyocera push into handsets. Verizon wants to ruin the 700 Mhz spectrum auction. Thoughts on Yahoo stock.

You’re getting it wrong, when Google said that, they meant that Asian nations are good at fucking up their citizens’ privacy.
I like the extra sound effects….
I’ll say it again… we need geeks to save the world!
C’mon guys — build privacy into all our open source programs. Save us not only from “Big Brother” but from all the snoopy “Little Brothers”, too.
“Google says Asians are the people who know how to do privacy right? What are they smoking?”
Whenever I see something like this (which is rare!) I can’t help but think,
“Ask Sean Connery about privacy in Japan”. He quit doing James Bond
the first time because the japanese press followed him right into the
public restrooms. And yet the typical japanese man gets all bent out of shape if you ask them where they went on their summer vacations. What the asians consider as needing privacy, probably isn’t what the western world does. Many of their values seem upside-down to westerners.
