1. moss says:

The Kurrent Krop of Kreeps in the White House have elevated kronyism to an art form. They should do well in korporate Amerika after they’re gone.

Would you expect them go elsewhere?

  2. Dallas says:

The other reason why it costs $275M per day is because there are not enough videos and media attention to stuff like this.

This is a government out of control run by white collar criminals. When they the Justice department grows some balls and throws people in jail for 25 years will things begin to change. I have a few names to start with.

  3. MotaMan says:

    sickening

  4. apeguero says:

It’s stuff like this that keeps me on the “Unenrolled” column in my voter registration. Totally absurd. Like #2 said, I also hope someone will grow some balls an start prosecuting these fat pigs and their political buddies that turned and looked the other way when they had a chance to stop it or prevent it from happening. I can’t believe my chances of ever collecting Social Security is pretty much gone (I’m 38) because of stupid shit like this.

  5. Rui Martins says:

Well… At least those towells won´t be reused as turbants for al qaeda staff. I gess thas the reason. At least I can´t think on anything else, right now.

  6. Matt Garrett says:

Must hate Bush. Must hate Bush. We must complain every second of his presidency because we must hate Bush.

    You guys are so pathetic.

  7. WhyIsThereNoDvorakUncensored.com says:

When is someone going to report that the INCOME generated every SECOND of every working day is $275 BILLION. Bush bashing and blaming “the government” for everything is so boring. I can give you 911 reasons why there is a war.

  8. The Monster's Lawyer says:

I want one of those towels.

  9. Romberry says:

The Senator has a good point but the “love it or leave it” nonsense at the end (by the supplier of this YouTube video no doubt) leaves me cold. This nation was born of dissent. Dissent is part of the fundamental definition of patriot. That the poster of the video is dissenting from the utterly stupid “cost plus” contract awarded by our government/nation that lets KBR do these kinds of things is sort of ironic, yes?

  10. ethanol says:

    So Matt (#3),
You think it is okay to quadruple the cost of a towel to the taxpayer for absolutely no other reason than to line the pockets of KBR?

Do you pay for internet service? Maybe Comcast? Okay so tomorrow they should quadruple the price of your internet access because those kinds of things don’t bother you…

  11. patrick says:

Gov’t waste is an equal opportunity game. Replacing one corrupt party for another will just shift it to different areas of waste. The Dems wasted a lot on Korea & Vietnam, the repubs on Iraq. When you factor $ wasted on pork, both sides should be shot.

  12. the answer says:

Take it from some one who works for a company that contracts with GPO. They order A LOT. At least they bid out everything and go with the absolute lowest price. We can literally lose a job over nickels.
As for the towel tripling in price why go with a logo that requires less embroidery? You need KBR stitched on there not 1/2 the earth and so on with logos. A regular name stitched on a polo will run about $5. Then maybe $1 for every thousand stitches after. Not to mention digitizing costs and so on. Why not just had KBR and nothing else?
I can bet money those towels will sit in a box, in a warehouse, in an unknown location and collect dust because of the level of incompetence out there. But at least they know where their towel is

  13. the answer says:

P.S. never forget that nice rush we get when it’s the end of the fiscal year, and they have to spend the rest of their budget or else they will get less next year. That’s always funny to see what they order because they have nothing else to order.

  14. apeguero says:

#7 Patrick, it’s why I remain unenrolled which means I can vote for whoever I want, whenever I want and on whatever primary I want, etc. I have no loyalty to either party. Even as I am far more Conservative than I am Lib…wait, even as I am a Conservative. (Phew…almost had a McCain moment there.) I am a bit pissed at the current situation though.

I almost don’t want to blame Bush for it but, as Truman once said, that Buck must stop somewhere. It’s so blatant it’s insulting. But you know what? I’m sure the Dems have their hands all over it too otherwise the shit would’ve been flying a long time ago which is why I can’t bring my self to blaming Bush 100%. Had it been only his administration doing this then he would’ve been impeached already. But I’m afraid this corruption is a lot more complicated than it appears.

  15. OhForTheLoveOf says:

#3 – Must hate Bush. Must hate Bush. We must complain every second of his presidency because we must hate Bush.

    You guys are so pathetic.

We’re pathetic because? You like Bush? You disagree with the video? I’m not sure I get why we’re pathetic. Maybe you could offer some cogent points rather than some childish hyperbole to enlighten us.

  16. Rabble Rouser says:

Why does KBR hate our troops?
    Why does KBR hate AMERICA?

Isn’t war profiteering a freakin’ crime?
    Isn’t there punishment for this?

    There should be.

  17. chuck says:

The previous embroidery design for the towels featured a blasphemous depiction of Muhammad, so I guess the KBR logo is an improvement.

  18. Ranger007 says:

    #9 – “why I can’t bring my self to blaming Bush 100%” I agree.

They (all of Washington) should all be held accountable. Our guys (and girls) should have been home years ago – within 365 days of the beginning of the war, if you can call it that.

The military should take care of the military – funny, in the past few years they have cut a number of agencies (and outsourced parts of others) but we are still spending $trillions that we shouldn’t.

But, who will be the last Marine on the ground in Iraq?

  19. Hoamie says:

god bless that senator. the war in and of itself is one thing, but goddamn war profiteering when this country is on the brink of (or already in) recession should be punishable by death.

i might not agree with the motives behind the war, nor do i agree with the retarded foreign policy this administration has promoted over the last 8 years, but something all americans can agree on is this: shameless war profiteers should be punished to the absolute fullest extent of the law.

scumsucking douchebags at KBR- i hope they all die of dick cancer.

  20. McCullough says:

“scumsucking douchebags at KBR- i hope they all die of dick cancer.”

Dude thats harsh! And I agree.

  21. JimS says:

Dude, this is America, don’t stoop to their level. They should be given a fair and speedy trial, and if found guilty, a quick and unceremonious hanging, ala Saddam.

The important part is we start at the top and cut off the head, instead of laying all the blame on the underlings, who carry out the orders.

I would guess that during a time of war, we citizens would be at our peak leverage to get mandatory minimum sentences instated for these types of crimes.

  22. julieb says:

Bush lied. Him and his criminal pals claimed the war would pay for itself. Gas prices where supposed to go down. Look it up. You can’t change history.

Blind partisan zealots still can’t see the harm it has done and will do to this country.

Matt Garrett is blinded by this zealotry just like 19% of the population.

    Pathetic. Shameful. Ignorant.

Pull your head out of the sand and look objectively at the facts. Fox News is not the only source of information. Expand your mind.

  23. patrick says:

#17 “Blind partisan zealots still can’t see the harm it has done and will do to this country.”

No kidding, we are still recovering from the Vietnam war. The only thing the Repubs learned from the Dem’s disasters was that they could do it too.

  24. soundwash says:

whats worse than bush/repubs/dems and whoever
else that is involved in this (and the untold other) sham/scams is the fact that it has been common knowledge for a long time and “we the people” (and the press) do absolutely nothing about it, -including me.

so blame who you will, but until we get off our fat collective amnesiac asses and exercise our constitutional right to have these guys hung out to dry. we really have no good reason to be too upset.. -and it’ll always just remain a 20sec new blurb, if that.

    -s

  25. MikeN says:

OK, fine with me, as long as the same standard is applied to all government programs. I’m more than happy to accept the trade-off. I’ll even vote for Ron Paul. How about you?

  26. SJP says:

#8, Why are your initials “KBR”?

  27. Bobo says:

Wow, this is right out of the movie “Catch 22”. Amazing.

  28. Mister Catshit says:

    #23, patrick,

No kidding, we are still recovering from the Vietnam war. The only thing the Repubs learned from the Dem’s disasters was that they could do it too.

    Trolling again with unsupported “facts”.

First, the highest levels of troops in Viet Nam came about when Nixon was President.

Second, the hardest prosecution of the Viet Nam War came about under Nixon.

Third, the Nixon Administration signed the “peace treaty” and the withdrawal agreement.

While the Democrats under Kennedy and Johnson did not give us America’s finest hours, the next administration was worse and a bigger disaster. If there is any lesson to be learned here, it is that Republicans have learned how to take a Democrat mistake and turn it into a disaster.

    QUESTION FOR PATRICK

Does your trolling come natural or do you practice?

  29. patrick says:

#28 0 for 2. I meant single digit IQ. You do know who originates spending? Who has control of spending bills? You know who controlled the money during that whole time. Who started the US in Vietnam?

I’m sorry, but before I respond to your uneducated questions anymore you’ll need to show me your grade school diploma.

  30. Mister Catshit says:

    #29, patrick,

I’m sorry, but before I respond to your uneducated questions

This shows how intelligent you really are. A question is meant to educate. Your dismissal of a question while trying to insult the questioner shows just how far you really went in school. Not that that really matters. I have friends that didn’t pass High School and are extremely bright while some with multiple degrees are as bright as you. Go figure.

But I’ve found most of you trolls are like that. You have nothing intelligent to add to the discussion so you denigrate the other side. If you add some “fact”, it is usually wrong. For example,:

Who started the US in Vietnam?

Well, the first US troops went to Viet Nam during the Eisenhower Administration. But it was a bad war. Trying to prop up repeated corrupt, incompetent dictators in Viet Nam seemed like a good thing to do at the time. After all, Eisenhower has interfered in all the Latin American countries for Dole, United Fruit, ITT, and whoever else.
