Police: Cabbie Bites Woman Over Fare – Orlando News Story – WKMG Orlando

Rachel Gookin was picked up by a cab driven by Hing Ho Tsang in Orlando on Tuesday at 1:26 a.m. and taken to Wekiva Trail in Seminole County, the sheriffs report stated. As Tsang turned onto Wekiva Trail, he demanded payment and became agitated, the report said. Gookin said she became scared, so she exited the cab, the report stated.
Gookin told Seminole County sheriffs deputies that Tsang grabbed her cell phone from her hand and took off, so she ran after the vehicle and reached into the window in an attempt to retrieve her phone. Gookin said she was bitten on the arm by Tsang, who sped away while her arm was still inside the cab, dragging her as he drove away, the sheriffs report stated. Gookin was able to free her arm and fell to the ground, according to the report.
Seminole County sheriffs deputies said Gookin had abrasions on her shoulder and knee, a lacerated lip and a bruise on her chest.
Gookin went to a nearby home to call authorities, who later caught and arrested Tsang, who was transported to jail.

Why is someone asking a cabbie to drive to a county trail at 1:30am? (probably +2am by then). I don’t know Orlando well so maybe this trail it’s a populated area. I was just there on vacation two days ago and all I can say is that the week that I spent there, it is some very rough times money wise and I think a lot of crap is going on.
But, I think this cabbie was onto something… late at night, a Trail, probably eratice behaviour… she was either going to jump out without paying(sounds like that is exactly what she did), but she lost her cell phone, so tried to get it back or something. He probably thought he was going to get shot.
If someone got out of my cab yelling, etc… then tried to get back or put a hand in the window like the situation described above, I would get the hell out of there… I would assume she has a gun. I wouldn’t care if I dragged her 100 meters…
It all sounds too fishy to me. Send them both to the clinker…

#7 You must have stayed at Disney… Because most roads were trails used by the Indians and farmers so the term Trail is just like Road, Drive or Avenue. Born and raised in Florida I lived in Orlando for over 18 years, and boy am I glad to get out of the state after a total of 37 years. People are nuts in that area, I have always said there must be something in the water. Most things don’t make sense down there. I moved to upstate New York and love it.

My name is katie and my best friend is rachel the girl who was hit by the cabbie. She was really drunk and instead of driving home her next best option (which is supposed to be the safest) is to take a cab. The whole reason for taking a cab is to make sure that you get home safely – She put her trust into this man by getting in the car and he violated her numerous ways. She was drunk and it was taking her a minute to find her money but he got really aggravated and irate. No one has the right to put their hands on you – NO MATTER WHAT. The cabbie deserves jail time – I have seen her face and he really really messed her up bad… He should have called the police if he had a problem with her and not take it into his own hands. Send his ass to jail because if you seen how she looks like i have you would aggree ass well.
