Tampa — The Rev. Alexios Marakis, visiting from Greece, had performed a blessing of a retired Greek priest in the West Shore area before accidentally exiting I-275 into downtown Monday evening, police said. Marakis followed cars into the Seaport Channelside Apartments on Twiggs Street and got out to ask for help.
Bruce, a reservist with a West Palm Beach unit since March, had his trunk open so he could get dry cleaning out, police said. Bruce, who lives in the apartment building, was not in uniform. He grabbed a tire iron from the trunk, hit Marakis four times over the head and chased him about three blocks before pinning the priest, police said…
When officers arrived, police say, Bruce told them he heard the man say “Allahu Akbar” – Arabic for “God is great.”
“That’s what they say before they blow you up,” Bruce said, according to police.
To their credit, Tampa coppers arrested Bruce – instead of the priest.
Obviously they don’t test the recruit’s IQ…
You know, when you decide to lie, you hafta choose one simple story and stick to it. Easy to Believe this Greek was homo trolling, more difficult to believe he said Alla Ackbar or anything else that would have sounded like that.
Either way, the jarhead represents the best military ever fielded in the world. Proud, confident==the foreigner was after his jewels or his freedom–either way, a beating offense. Give him a Homeland Security Medal and send him to Officer School.

#2, your an asshole, who’s America hating attitude is blinding him to the facts. 99.9% of marines are good honest people, who go to work in the morning, go home at night, and try to do the best to raise their families, and do this while doing one of the only jobs in this country where you can legally be ordered to go die at any time.
The marine was in the wrong plain an simple. Marines come from the civilian population, and just because you become a member of the military does not automatically get rid of any mental illness’s you have. The military does their best to screen them, but inevitably some will get through, and things like this will happen.
The marine will be punished, probably under the UCMJ, which is more strict than the civilian law usually, and he will go to jail, followed by a dishonorable discharge.

What a real jerk. I’m not necessasrily knocking a boy while he’s down. I happened to be run out of an apartment I was renting by a guy named Jason, though don’t know how he spelled it. He had just gotten out of the Navy.
Suffice it to say this guy wasn’t squared away, and he’s held to a much higher standard. If he is who I’m counting on to represent me overseas do I need to be worried?

So unless you are dumber than a post, there’s some pretty compelling evidence that the marine is highly suspect in a hate crime. In his defense, I can also suggest that the way he is, is the way the Marine Corps wants him to be… lean, malleable and mean.
I look like a middle eastern ,and am not even a Muslim and I don’t have a beard , when Sep 11 happen I got beaten in the high school , and getting insults and stuff like that after a few years passed..

On a side note: If this priest is representative of all priests in Greece, they are to be commended! One assumes a Marine, even a Reservist, is in pretty good physical shape, yet the priest is struck over the head four times with a tire iron and still manages to outrun the Marine for almost three blocks! Wow!
