I still remember a brand called ‘TONY’, the logo was written in the same font as the SONY one, and BASK cassettes, just like BASF ones. Recently I’ve seen ‘TOKIA’ cellular phones…
It’s a thriving industry, not only in China. I see some – not as many as 20 years ago – of these stuff still to this day, in shops all around me (Portugal).
But Sonia and PolyStation! Man! 🙂 I wonder how many unfortunate dads took home a Polystation, thinking the kids would be ecstatic…
Those brands are reary good! I’m waiting for the Pray Station 2 to come out.
There’s already Mac “clones” which are nothing but PCs with OSX86 “preinstalled” in them.

It actually isn’t all junk. Some of it is about the same as a “no brand” or store brand item you might buy at a Walmart or where
ever. I’ll guess it’s made at the same factories.
What fascinates me is that China is doing knock-off cars and at a price point that has western auto makes mystified, and maybe a little nervous. (Was this story blogged here?)
