On July 20, 1969, man first landed on the Moon. A few decades later, we’re pleased to cut you in on the action. Google Moon is an extension of Google Maps and Google Earth that, courtesy of NASA imagery (thanks, guys!), enables you to surf the Moon’s surface and check out the exact spots that the Apollo astronauts made their landings.
Click on the photo to go to Google Moon. Be sure to zoom in all the way and check out the detail in the Lunar surface. |
Damn, when I saw the post I though to myself that Google had updated the pictures to add more resolution, but not, still the same thing that it put up more than 2 years ago.
Guess we have to wait a bit until Street View will be available?
#1 Trikitraki, has got it right. This is old and stale information repackaged as NEWS.
Whats Google Moon cool, if you go to the highest resolution you get a image of swiss cheese.
Google can map the Moon but they, nor anybody else, can explain its existence although there are hypotheses. The Moon is an utter mystery. Of course, the greatest coincidence is that, seen from Earth, the Moon and the Sun are the same size. The highly improbable of life on Earth is made even more improbable by the Moon’s relative size and its beacon during darkness.
Some Incredible Intelligence put the Moon there.
This is at least a year old. They also have Mars by the way.
Did that bit of news just falll through a Google wormhole?
And while we are on the subject Im looking forward to the time we can have a 3D globe of earth which I can spin round with my mouse right here on my computer. Hey you could put 3D buildings on it.
Excuse me now. I am off to work on a new idea. I’m calling it a web based search engine. Needs a catchy name though. You will never guess what it does…
Cool! Now we just need Google Universe!

Good work Jon, only took 2 years of April Fool’s jokes for you to post this one. Good to know you’re right on top of things.
Wow! I guess I deserve the flack! It was new to me.
#4 The most accepted theory today is a Mars sized object slammed into the early Earth. The resulting ejecta condensed to form the moon.
That ‘Lame’ icon makes me so sad…
Wait, shouldn’t that cheese be green?
9. Dont beat yassef up, it was new to me too, made me hungry.
That’s it: I UNSUBSCRIBE!
