#5. After much hemming and hawing, I done did it.
Depending upon the location, Edge either sucks or is acceptable. On the wi-fi, it done rocks. I may start lobbying my city to establish muni wi-fi.
Two things particularly impress me – the sheer beauty of the UI and the self-evident durability of the phone itself.
The icons and menus are simply a pleasure to look at. Video podcasts never looked so good.
All that widespread kvetching about the glass was for naught, and the brushed aluminum on the back spares us from the first scratch that mars new iPods.
And I am not sure what the big deal was about touch-screen typing. I am still doing 1-finger tap-out, but I am doing at least as well as I did on my old Crackberry.
I am sold.
So doug done sold out.

A week later and I’m still loving it. I agree that EDGE is hit and miss.
