phone

Fred’s Old Phones Page — These pics, found on a site in France show these peculiar “phone” pics. I assume this is an early form of porn. When the nudity gets too provocative, then the girls are often drawings. Perhaps someone can clue me into this naked girl with a phone motif. Is it about phone sex in 1918? Or what? I do not get it.

  1. Ima Fish says:

I remember reading that one of the original fears of phones was that men and women would be able to talk to each other without supervision or a chaperone. I’d infer from that that phones would give a sense of freedom that could easily translate into a sexual nature.

Think back then, you could not see your girlfriend without an escort. Suddenly, you’re able to talk to her about things with no one else around. And even if someone is watching and listening to her on the phone, they’re not able to here what you’re saying.

  2. Jim says:

Here is a URL for Fred’s page http://tinyurl.com/5slm9
    or you can remember http://perso.wanadoo.fr/fredouille/coquin.htm

I’ll try making it shorter. Can you make it shorter than Tiny URL John? I justed used the mouse to make the short URL for Fred. Look Ma, no keyboard.

  3. Don’t discount the phone sex though. I saw some poses that would make one think that some titillating conversation is going on. Think about lovers and spouses being far away from one another (because of wars or business trips) …

  4. Miguel Lopes says:

John Dvorak!!! How dare you post a link to such indecent pictures!!!! May the wrath of the self-righteous christian fundamentalists fall upon thee!!!

    I loved it!

Can’t wait to see the reaction!

  5. Michael Cuthbertson says:

    Nekkid ladies on the phone?
I think their clothes just got stuck in the damn washing machine again.
And they gotta call that bozo repair guy for the fifth time to fix the piece of crap!
In 1918, that Maytag guy was working 60-70 hour weeks with no lunch. Not like today when he just sits around on the Internet ogling naked girls on the telephone.
Those days were hectic times, John.

  6. T.C. Moore says:

Back then any operator between you and your gal could listen in on the conversation. They certainly had to connect your call in the first place. In a small town, where some knew the operator(s) by name and gossiped for fun, that’s a big risk. The operator (if not the attentive ear of the Lord) was the chaperone.

  7. T.C. Moore says:

Jim, yer wasting tinyURLs. Looks like they use 5 characters of a-z,0-9, so that’s 36 ^ 5. Only 60 million URLs! You’re singlehanded going to make them use 6 characters.
