Most of the people who have reviewed this say the face slap and the rest of it are all legit although the whole thing has a certain hoax aspect. Kind of a long drawn out Candid Camera meets Pauley Shore kind of thing.

I’m sorry, but there are just some things in the world that shouldn’t be the subject of a prank. A marriage proposal is one of them.
Yeah, I think it’s on the level. As a world-class life-long hopeless prankster myself, I recognize the giddiness & scenario when things unexpectedly go just over the line.
I once had a professional improv group and its audience convert their entire theater into a working military-style air rescue operation center, complete with TV media just so I could get a pompous friend – once a teen air cadet – to completely embarrass himself as he was asked to volunteer in increasingly more difficult rescue responsibilities right up to filling in for the C-130 Herc. co-pilot.

A successful practical joke (ie,prank) only zings the one it is meant for;it does not hurt a totally innocent bystander. What this idiot did goes so far beyond this that it makes doggy-doo pranks appear to be in good taste.
The proper response to this would be for Streeter to: 1) beat his “friend” into hamburger; 2) Never speak to him again under any circumstances, and; 3) crawl to Sharon on his knees, apologize profusely, and arrange for her to see this video. He might also evaluate his relationship with Sharon, based on her initial reaction.
Ah yes humor, a difficult concept.
Hmmm…this probably explains an odd occurrence at a Diamondbacks game in the last week or so: between innings, same type of message pops up on the jumbo-tron along with a live 2-shot of a guy and the girl both looking genuinely mystified and embarrassed. (And then…nothing happened.) So, does that mean this ‘prank’ is on its way to becoming a regular feature at games, like the 7th Inning Stretch???

I was at that D’Backs game… They switched the camera just as the guy realized what was happening and started to get on his knee. She apparently say yes anyway. It also made the sports news that night.
#9 makes a good point … this was not a fair-is-fair prank.
I once had a boss who was a minor, local (GOP) politician in the Reagan ’80s. His son and I had a female friend call the office and instruct him to “Hold for the President”.
We had him on hold — hootin’ and hollerin’ — for all afternoon!

I don’t think that was really funny. It wasn’t done in good taste and all I have to say for the prankster is that karma is a bitch.
There are some things off limits in these kind of pranks….fake death calls that sort of thing, and marriage proposals. If Amir pulled this on me….I would be needing OJ’s old law group because his ass would be dead.

Nope, I beg to differ. From what I’ve seen of these guys, the bitch was the one who got slapped.
c’mon, this guy is supposedly involved in a ‘prank war’, this happens to him, and the first thing out of his mouth to his old lady is not “this has to be amir”??? Either he is a tool or they are having fun acting this out. Last one was staged as well (why would there be an additional camera able to film absolutely everything), but at least they are original. We need more of this kind of stuff.
