So, I’m doing some reading online last night and these two articles – from Reuters – are side-by-side.

Ahmadinejad says Iran, U.S. not headed for war and Cheney mulled Israeli strike on Iran

Article 1:

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in a U.S. television interview on Sunday that Iran did not need nuclear weapons and his country was not heading for war with the United States.

Asked whether Iran and the United States were heading toward conflict over Tehran’s nuclear ambitions, he said: “It’s wrong to think that Iran and the U.S. are walking toward war. Who says so? Why should we go to war? There is no war in the offing.”

Article 2:

Vice President Dick Cheney had at one point considered asking Israel to launch limited missile strikes at an Iranian nuclear site to provoke a retaliation, Newsweek magazine reported on Sunday.

A military response by Iran could give Washington an excuse to then launch airstrikes of its own, Newsweek said.

Maybe we can get both these guys on camera at the same time and see if they come up with the same answers?

  1. MikeN says:

Back to the actual topic. Ahmadenijad assures us there are no gays in Iran. Also, his nuclear program is for peace only. I didn’t predict the first of those two statements.
And by the way, if the Holocaust happened, it wasn’t because of the Palestinians.

  2. doug says:

#2. “It’s a said reflection upon the state our government when I trust Ahmadinejad more than our government”

let me just say this – I don’t trust anyone who claims that the Holocaust did not happen, since they are practitioners of the Big Lie.

christ, lets have some perspective, people – don’t trust either of them AT ALL.

  3. Jeff says:

Well than, our military or DARPA will have to get working on a gay gun in order to turn a high percentage of their population into homosexuals. Following the principles established by select members of the religious right in our own country, this will destablize their man, woman marriage structure and lead to the downfall of their culture without the need for an unnessary war.

On a serious note, he visited the UN, he gave a speech and now him can go home.

  4. Jeff says:

I think this has probably been posted at least a dozen times before. It is a bomb rather than a gun (which is sort of logical). That being said it comes from an utter bullshit source:

  5. Ralph, the School Bus Driver says:

    #60, Ze,

If you had actually read your link, you would see that there is no evidence provided that Iran is supplying weapons to Iraq. You also would have seen that Iraq is doing everything possible to make nice with Iran in order to help stop the bloodshed.

The article also points out a fact the American government is very hypocritical about, the detention of diplomats. As with most other forms of international policy, the Bush Administration just doesn’t have any respect for the law. As long as he holds a valid Diplomatic Passport, he is only subject to expulsion, not detention.

  6. MikeN says:

I’d say this sums up the left’s mindset:
From the Daily Kos:, author sallykohn

    >I know I’m a Jewish lesbian and he’d probably have me killed. But still, the guy speaks some blunt truths about the Bush Administration that make me swoon…

  7. MikeN says:

Columbia didn’t let the Minutemen founder speak awhile back, as he’s a racist or something, and his kind just aren’t welcome at their esteemed university.

  8. MikeN says:

Ahmadenijad opened with a prayer for the return of the 12th imam.

  9. Steve Savage says:

    Ahmadienejad is Adolf Hitler!

    Hitler is evilllll!!!

Come on let’s be honest. Iran isn’t Nazi Germany and Ahmadienejad is not Adolf Hitler. He’s just a funny looking short persian guy with as bad a sense of tact as Bush.

I will believe that Iran is a a threat when they manage to invade and occupy france, take all of north africa and have their troops in the outskirts of Moscow…at that point I might be inclined to agree with you.

The only person that scares the crap out of me is the Our Glorious Leader Bush. He HAS nukes, he HAS religious fanaticism, and he HAS the will to end this planet’s history with a bang, or at least 10,000 large bangs.

People with Jesus on the brain really scare me even worse than the muslims with allah on the brain.

  10. MikeN says:

In realted news, in 1933, Columbia University invited the Nazi Ambassador to speak there, and all assurances were made as to the Nazis peaceful intentions.
