OMFSM, I can’t stop laughing! What training and preparation! Unfortunately, not a Darwin candidate (but hope springs eternal). 😆

This is a very old video I think i saw it over 2 years ago. However I can’t think of a better demonstration for kids of the dangers of guns and the benefits of gun safety. Well it could have been better I guess if he had dropped to the ground screaming in pain…… His ability to still try to turn the incident into a powerful educational presentation while obviously in a lot of pain was both impressive and disturbing……

    Oh he later sued too….

(Orlando, Florida-AP) April 14, 2006 – A federal agent who accidentally shot himself in the foot while telling kids about gun safety says he’s become the butt of too many jokes – so he’s suing his employer.

Lee Paige told a group of Orlando, Florida children that he was the only one in the room professional enough to handle a gun. Moments later, he shot himself.

Paige was then suspended for five days without pay, and the videotape of the shooting was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.

But the tape soon began making the rounds of the Internet and late-night talk shows.

The lawsuit contends the tape was leaked by the DEA and that the subsequent publicity subjected Paige to “derision” and “ridicule.”

As I always have said, Glocks are a poorly designed firearm, being down right dangerous. And even more so in the hands of the stupid and careless. I personally know of 4 other law enforcement professionals who have either creased their leg or shot themselves in the ass holstering them.

Although I must admit, probably with no where near the egotistical flair that this guy did. Ive seen this vid a dozen times, and still amazes me at what an idiot thus guy was/is.

    I hate rules….

Somehow I think Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton should be involved here. Possibly in the path of the firearm discharge.

AND an idiot forgets that AUTOMATICS have a bullet on the chamber…
    He even Cocked it…

  11. Gumchewr says:

This guy brought a LOADED gun into the classroom! He shot his foot – big deal; he could have shot one of the students. His “lesson” on gun safety was severely compromised. Who will listen to a guy stupid enough to shoot himself just after declaring that he is the only one “expert” enough to carry this particular weapon. Every student in that room believes he/she is smarter than that guy and wouldn’t ever shoot themselves. They’ll probably go out and get guns just to prove this.

  12. domc says:

Why were there bullets in the gun? This looks like it was in a school.
Just another school shooting I guess.

  13. Mr. Fusion says:

Yes it is old, but still relevant.

This is a great advocate for gun control simply because it points out there are idiots out there with guns. It doesn’t matter what “rules” he broke, this guy was supposed to be trained and was actually giving a lecture on gun safety. Whatever momentary lapse of reason he had could have happened to anyone, well trained or not.

    > #8 Whats the difference between rule II and IV?

If a loved one is in the room behind the person you are going to shoot, they are in danger. Don’t shoot at the perp, because if you miss your bullet could go through the wall and hit a bystander.

  15. steelcobra says:

This idiot pulled idiot move #1: clearing the weapon without dropping the magazine. Which happens to be exactly the same as loading it. He obviously didn’t carry with one in the chamber, but forgot that “unloaded” means no magazine, too.

And Glock sucks. I’d rather have a Berretta 92F. Which is very low below my list of what I’d be interested in owning.
    USP .45 Tactical
    Steyr M-A1 .40
    Mateba Autorevolver

RE: ECA – “AND an idiot forgets that AUTOMATICS have a bullet on the chamber… He even Cocked it…”

Glocks are hammerless so you don’t really ‘cock’ them – you can rack the slide and a round will be in the chamber and I guess you can call it “cocked” but its kinda different with that trigger and the safety tab on built into it – no external hammer at all.

Reminds me of that Cypress Hill song “Cock the Hammer” where the lyrics are “Ever heard a Glock go `click’ like a camera? Cock the hammer!” and I was like ummm guys, WHAT hammer are you cocking – ever actually SEEN a Glock? lol

Personally, I had a Glock 17 and it was alright but give me a CZ-85 any day 😉

  17. SCARED!!! says:

He’s lucky he wasn’t holding the “.44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world” – ’cause he could’ve blown his paw clean off — and it would’ve been WAY louder.

I really loved when he let the action slide forward, I heard the chamber being loaded. Of course, I listen to that stuff, and wouldn’t be worth a shit in any Hollywood movie — I would COUNT SHOTS and kill my adversary while they were reloading. But, I’m a jerk, trained, and my guns don’t have unlimited ammo (unlike movie guns) – they do need reloading.

So, hippy dreadlocks stoner copster got a good lesson. Even the kids were saying, “NO, DON’T RELOAD!!!” … why listen to kids that just watched you shoot yourself — they’re just witnesses. 😉

    BAH!!!
